We love this practice. More important our dog Abby loves it. We have been treated exceptionally with good clinical care, kindness, excellent follow up and help with filing insurance claims. Abby loves Dr Cawein and is excited to see her on the street. All the doctors are caring and kind. I can't say enough how reassuring it is to have medical care of this calibre.if only human medical treatment and bedside manner was as good!
I brought my dog Wally to Riverside Animal Hospital (RAH) after he began to have trouble with stairs and tire during his walks. At the time, he was a 10 1/2 years old yellow lab / retriever that never had health problems since his adoption 10 years ago on July 4, 2007 from a rescue shelter. Have been here several times now, and had two vets. Our dog, Mona, is declining with kidney failure, and Dr. Cawein has been absolutely wonderful, helping us through a difficult time. She's got fantastic bedside manner with both patient and human companions, and she's gone out of her way to call, email, talk through options, and check in. I can't recommend the vets at Riverside Animal Hospital highly enough. Their level of knowledge surpasses that of any doctor I have personally visited, and their level of care goes well above and beyond: responding to my "nervous dog mom" emails at all hours and caring for my dog like he was their own. I can't imagine placing a pet's health in better hands.
My dog woke up on a Sunday morning with two goopy crusty eyes and our regular vet wasn't open. I called around and Riverside was the first place able to get us in on a Sunday without a pre-scheduled appointment. The staff was super friendly, got Buddy the eye drops he needed and followed up the following day and a week later to make sure he was doing well.
I am so pleased with the care that our 13 year old Viszla is receiving here at Riverside. You can reach the doctors by email. Dr. Weber is wonderful. Front desk, associates, Dr. K is great too, I love that they call-backs with reports, have a wonderful bedside manner, cleanliness all A++. Our dog travels between Massachusetts and NYC and the vets share all records electronically. Highly recommend this team. (They also have a location in the West 70's and Dr. Weber works from there at times).
Dr Cawein is one of the most caring people we've met! She truly loves her job, she treats our dogs as if they were her own, she is the best vet we've ever had! Her office staff is wonderful too. They are caring and concerned about our dogs and always take time to interact with our dogs in a fun, loving way. The pricing is reasonable and we were given estimates before any thing was done. Dr. K, Dr. Raclyn and staff have been my Veterinarians since 1992 when they were still at their former location on West 100th Street. You don't keep coming back for 24 years if they weren't doing something right.
I had to contact Riverside Animal Hospital from out of state. I was taking care of my sister's cat who is a patient at this hospital. He became very sick. When I called, the staff was very kind, patient, and helpful. I had to take the cat to a vet in my neighborhood. Riverside Animal Hospital immediately faxed the cat's records to my vet.
