SLOW and seemed like they made up rules as they went along! I was shopping for a lender and was contacted by Tim Flaherty of Mutual Mortgage. Tim was excellent! He was on top of things, communicated effectively and efficiently, and took the time to explain to me each step of the application process. Slow and incompetent We had to close twiceClosing documents were furnished with wrong last name for one of borrowersFees were exorbitantly highWe were charged extra fees without disclosure for rate extensions though our paperwork was in order and we furnished all documentation immediately and have an excellent credit score and high equity in the property.Payment after closing was minimum a week after closing
Horrible experience I have been in process for 38 days, still in underwriting and no closing date in sight. On Tuesday, 11/24/20 all of my contingencies run out and my contract terminates. I will lose my earnest money and the house I want to buy. I received an email from the co-branch manager, Steve Ahearn, to share with the other parties in this transaction, stating that I was a well qualified buyer, 25% down, etc., and that the delay was due to the mortgage company. Is this a joke? It took them 5 months to tell me that I can't qualify for refinancing. And that was after I had to ask many times about the status of the application and after I submitted the 100s of documents that they requested and told me that I'm conditionally approved. Unacceptable!
Poor customer service The agent failed to follow through with his rate assurance. They lack professional communication skills, such as notifying you of significant changes. The refinance process took over two months, then ended up costing us more (due to the amount of time it took and the agents failure to keep the rate he assured). Getting ahold of anyone was a significant task, and it took them weeks to correct their own mistake. If we hadn’t been stuck with them, we would’ve moved on to another company.
Terrrible Experience Began dealing with Mutual of Omaha in February. Lender indicated she would have everything ready to close refinance by mid-March. The communication was horrible, if I wanted to know what was happening with my loan I had to call them. They chose a title company which was not in my state and came back with incorrect information about a lien on my house I spoke with Mutual and the title company and neither was willing to clear, I called my state got the correct information and submitted to both. Don't Use Plenty of Others I went through a cash out refinance with T.J. Doering. In the end all I got from TJ was a $525.00 appraisal of my home. TJ asked me when we first started how much my home was worth, I gave him my opinion. He then increased that amount by over 10k. The only reason I can think that TJ increased that amount was he knew I couldn't get any cash out on the value I had stated to him.
