I was a customer at California Skin Institute for many years and saw Dr. Sara Colby. Dr. Colby retired and was not allowed to say goodbye to her clients, so I found out when I called for an appointment she had retired. I saw Joe Gorelick approximately three weeks ago for fillers. Called this place before looking at the reviews. I should have looked first. I can not speak for the doctors here, but just called to schedule an appointment and received atrocious customer service. Major attitude and made me feel like they were doing me a favor by taking my call. Never using this "factory" of a clinic again. I rather pay more somewhere else.

No parking. I waited in the parking lot for 10 mins then the front desk told me I was late (which I was not). They had a lot of trouble with office logistics and basic things like signing in and getting my insurance (Aetna PPO). I'm still in the waiting room and I've been here over an hour. I should have read the prior reviews. I agree with the others that the office staff is completely underwater and unable to provide a positive experience.

Front desk staff is very cold and unwelcoming. I waited over an hour for my appointment with no update along the way. Poorly run facility and team.

I don't get all of the hate here. California Skin Institute has been fantastic every time I've gone in for treatments. The doctors and staff are very friendly too. You can also get appointments very quickly unlike most other dermatologists these days.

ALWAYS a long wait. Never on time. Dr. Mac-Fung always is running behind. And when you do get to see her, it is for about 5 minutes. She is very rushed. She is a good doctor but for the 1 hour of waiting, it would be nice to get a bit more time with the doctor to help with the issues. Wish I had other options but I am sad to say that I don't feel I do. Stuck!

The office staff is LITERALLY incompetent. I was charged me 150 for a consultation fee which I was never told about when making the appointment. Also, they rarely pick up the phone and you're lucky if they return your call. I went to a different dermatologist and was treated during the same appointment, for the same cost as the 1 minute consultation. Dr Morales was nice..I think... I only spoke to her for about a minute.

Scam central. Blast me with your nitrogen gas bottle to freeze something instead of a biopsy and then charge me $130 for surgery on it? Really? If it was that important you would have taken a biopsy instead, right? I thought the samples they took for biopsies were unremarkable as well. I will not return. Billing machine.

I'm so disappointed in this institute. The doctors are great. Wonderful and caring. The staff however, in my experience, is extremely incompetent. They fail to follow up on appointments and give no reminders on making next appointments. My daughter is on acutane and this is time sensitive medication. Knowing this, they never reminded my daughter and her time lapsed. When I had my daughter call to ask about her medication refill they were rude and not helpful, I'm assuming because she's not an adult. She could not get answers... read more
