I had to wait a month for the earliest appointment available. They have you arrive 15 minutes early to fill out forms, ok fine. It's funny that I received an email AFTER my appointment to fill out forms online. My appointment was going ok except the doctor seemed very rushed. She addressed my issues and was still talking to me when there was a knock on the door. It was one of the techs telling her that time was up. Id love to leave 5 stars because the practice was great, but the receptionist was horrible. Rude is the way to put it. The dermatologist was amazing. Helped me get rid of an unwanted skin condition!! So i highly recommend the dermatologist, but that receptionist was just a rude undesirable. Her name starts with an A. . . . Adrina, Adrian, adri, something like that. I asked a question about the paper work and she answered like I was an annoying 4 year old. "Um, if you read the paper work. Yeah you're welcome". Unprofessional.

I was treated there in 2023 and wouldn't go back or recommend it. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I'd like to share my experience to help others make informed decisions about care. Individuals were very kind, but their assembly line approach to surgery is far less than ideal. I had a basal cell growth removed from my scalp, was left for 45 minutes before they could sew me up because they had so many patients being treated simultaneously. I had a surgery with one of the doctors at the California Skin Institute a couple of hours ago. Following the procedure, she informed me that she had sent my antibiotic prescription to the pharmacy. However, two hours later, when I went to pick it up, the pharmacy said they had not received any prescription under my name. Since then, I've called the California Skin Institute eight times to follow up, but each time I was directed to an automated system and had to leave a voicemail. Just the worst experience I've had at a doctor's appointment since I can remember. One hour and a half hour wait time is not ok. And they ask you to come fifteen minutes early too. Totally ruined my day. I was upset by the time I saw the doctor. I don't mind a reasonable wait time but that is not acceptable. When I was being examined the doctor had an assistant in the room when I was practically naked in my paper gown who was old enough to be my grandson. I felt exposed. Very embarrassing! Went in to see Dr. Mac Fung for a cancer screening I showed her the tiny spot on my face. What I thought was a scrape biopsy ended up being a punch biopsy on my face after repeated calls and questions and concerns and crying, I am left with a permanent dent in my face. Steer clear of this place. If you couldn't tell from the plethora of other bad reviews, the office is insanely disorganized and non-communicative in a way that borders on dangerous (eg. failing to share critical information or resolve issues preventing patients from retrieving prescribed medication). I called them many times over the course of several weeks in order to resolve an issue in which they sent my prescription to the wrong pharmacy and never received a single call back. I waited in the lobby for an hour after checking in 10 minutes early. I prompted them after 30 minutes and was assured it'd be 20 more minutes. I left without being seen. Completely unprofessional and does not value my time.

On May 29, 2025, Dr. Mak-Fung sneezed twice on my husband's face while she closely examined his face. I expressed my disgust at her action and she flipantly retorted, " I have a mask". I informed her that the cheap mask still spreads her germs and told her she should have turned away from my husband to sneeze. She didn't care. We complained to management.
