This was my first appointment at this clinic & was seen by Dr. Mak-Fung who was so RUDE & UNHELPFUL. She was speaking too fast so I asked her to slow down. She said she was talking fast bc she thought I only had 1 concern regarding my skin, but I came in for a few reasons, which I mentioned to the front desk (unfortunately that wasn't communicated to her but that's an internal issue beyond me). The only thing I liked about the California Skin Institute was their excellent dermatologist Doctor Paul Hoesly (and a kindly staff). After almost two months of two ER visits and four other doctors I finally found Dr. Hoesly who very kindly and compassionately diagnosed my problem. I am grateful for his expertise and sensitivity.

Sorry to say ,but the office constantly makes mistakes about appointments. Two times they told my husband he had the wrong date. He brought the hand written appointment the second time and they said we do not know how this happened. Today my daughter who took off work from her very busy schedule was told she was mistaken. No one holds anyone accountable for these costly mistakes. They need to get their office staff together and be more accountable. I wonder how many times the doctor needs to hear this to get something done. ... read more

This place use to be good, but now they are not. Always rushed always behind. If you are one minute late though you better be careful as they will cancel your appointment or start calling you. Total double standard and rude! Especially after we have waited for an hour on multiple visits! Ugh.

I am just so surprised that it got even 3 stars..This is the worst institute I have ever been to so far. The front desk is so difficult to deal with, with no idea of what they are doing. The phone always goes to voice messages. And if you have any billing questions, just forget it...They never return your call..It's just so frustrating. I am very disappointed with them. NEVER go to CA Skin Institute.

I know to avoid this office but I needed to see a doctor immediately. Scheduled an appointment for 830am the next day. After about an hour of waiting, the doctor finally saw me. This beat the previous record of 40 minutes. This office is notoriously behind schedule. Bring a lunch! Place is a skin mill.

I have gone to this office for many years. the scheduling is impossible. As I write this, I have been waiting for an hour. This is after they scheduled me with the wrong doctor and I had to reschedule. Just to get a scheduler in the phone is a lot of work. I love my doctor so I have continued to come back. After today, NO more !

Their front desk are literal idiots. They don't pick up their phone at any time during the day. You can leave a message like they ask and they won't call you back...ever. I scheduled an appointment by going into the office and asking for one. When I arrived for my appointment they gave me paperwork to sign that was for a different patient! It had their medical information along with their social security number!!
