Jon came out and did the measuring of our four large basement windows we were looking to replace. He spent quite a bit of time discussing options with my husband and was very knowledgeable about options as well as the Downers Grove code requirements for basement windows. Victor came out to measure and provide initial estimate. He was on time, professional and answered my questions. Window order took 2-3 weeks . He then came out at agreed day/ time to install. Removed broken window. He accepts credit card on smartphone which provided both electronic email receipt and paper agreement on the spot. Terms 1/2 up front balance after work done. replaced broken vinyl glass 3X6 ft casement window double pane low-e argon in my great room. glass cost 300,labor 100.

The sales person was on time, courteous and friendly. He was not at all pushy. He knew a lot about the installation process, which was important to me because I have unusual windows in an unusual house. The window was ready before the 6 week lead time they quoted me at the time I signed the contract. The installers came out very soon after the windows were ready. I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it was fine. They came out a couple of weeks after I ;purchased the deal. It was informational to see where there were problem areas for air and heat leakage in my home. I used Scientific Home Services for complete window air leak seal and adjustment. They mainly assessed where there were heat leaks within my home. They took heat scanpicturesso I can seethe areaswhere I am losing heat in my home. They then tested the windows to see where there was air coming in.

The whole process could not have gone any better. First, we did our homework to obtain 3 quotes to get a better understanding of window quality and price. Jon was extremely responsive, punctual, and professional. Overall, Scientific had the highest price in comparison to the other quotes. But after doing some research on the reviews of the other windows, we felt that the window provided by Scientific was worth the extra cost along with the service and warranty provided. I had 3 estimates to replace all the windows in my 100+ year old home. I went with Scientific because of the professionalism of Jon when he came out to provide an estimate. He showed me, and explained in easy to understand terms, the difference with their windows. He also went through the warranties and answered all my questions. I'm not much for spending this kind of money w/o wearing it....but our house looks great. We originally had the front part of the house windows replaced. Our 20 yr old Norco windows were rotting out. I was so impressed with the installed Marvin window results that we eventually had the whole house done. Scientific is professional and user-friendly. Victor is very knowledgeable and professional. He even took time and went over the problems with me and taught me how to maintain the windows to prevent future problems. He is the man for any window/door problems. I highly recommend him. Fixed un-closed window, switched incorrectly installed screen window, installed a screen window, and fixed a broken screen door.
