We visit HH several times a year. Ela’s has always been a favorite. But not this last time. The only enjoyable plate was the roasted beet and goat cheese. I had the pork chop, it was dry and hard to chew. My husband had fish that was full of bones and difficult to eat. He finally sent it back. Just extremely disappointed
A bit over-rated. The food was fine, albeit uninspired. The atmosphere was classic upper echelon Hilton Head. Had hoped for a better dining experience given the 'word on the street' and the prices. Service at the table and the bar was less than our expectations given their reputation and the pricing.
Really disappointing food - the crab cakes particularly were all filler.
The outdoor location, the waiters service and the food were excellent. We obviously stayed too long at our table. As we were having dessert and coffee, the owner came over took my coffee from my hand, took our dessert and rudely said he was moving us inside to a table. He was so rude. He didn’t even explain why. Some of the worst quality steaks I have ever had. USDA select at best.
Grouper platter was overly breaded and fish was dry — no way to treat grouper!
Went for brunch. Salmon BLT had no bacon. Grouper sandwich was very greasy. View was wonderful and the waitress was nice.
The interior hasn’t been renovated in a while. Old, dark, and dated. The food tasted like cafeteria food. It was the worst $150 I’ve spent on Hilton head.
Food was disappointing. Double charged for an item and was not refunded after they called and said they would. Revisiting this restaurant four years after our honeymoon. Ela’s has gone downhill since our first visit. Service was kind but poor. The view is still good. Maybe just stop by for drinks and apps next time.
