Mediocre service, no enthusiasm. Food disappointing, oyster Rockefeller had no cheese and lobster risotto was gummy with no flavor. Celebrating our friends anniversary and no acknowledgement was made. Nice view but probably last visit.
This is a pretentious restaurant which is low on taste, but charges high prices. I had the Lobster served with risotto. Very Bland. My wife had a couple appetizers: Lobster Nachos and Calamari. The calamari were made with a very thick part of the squid and not tasty. The lobster nachos were cold and could have been made with canned lobster. Maybe we should have ordered fish? Service was ok, but for $75, I expected better.
The server was inattentive; my med. rare steak came out well done and then when it was returned it was raw inside. The server was also rude. There are too many good choices for dining in Hilton Head to return to Elas!
Called to confirm an outside table and had to wait while they set it up because they didn't recall our request. Outside beautiful views of harbor. Food, much disappointment. Lobster bisque had not one morsel of lobster. Carpaccio mostly arugula with little meat. Short ribs more like a chunk of brisket. Lobster over cooked. Sides pretty high priced for the portion size. Will not be back.
I ordered swordfish , I came undercooked at the thicker end . Could not eat it, translucent. The hostess came over & asked were we were from, because the chief said iit was cooked, we just to understand how they do it in the south! If I wanted sushi I would have ordered sushi! We each ordered the special of the night, the Snapper. A very small portion was served and even worse it wasn't that good and the price was $36.
Service was poor with very high prices . Wait staff offered to show us the dessert tray before our dinner was served! She had no idea we had not had our entrees. No refills on beverages.
We were not impressed with the food at Ela's. My daughter ordered a filet to be cooked medium. It was cooked very unevenly, and was dry. My husbands swordfish was also very overcooked. We will not be returning to this restaurant on our next trip.
We like Ela's a lot and go often. There were 5 of us and only 4 meals came out. Our waiter was chatting with a friend at the bar and never even came over to check to see if we had gotten our food. After 7 minutes of everyone else having been served my husband went and called the waiter over and 3 - 4 minutes later our last meal came out. By then my husband's steak was ice cold.
