My experience was very negative from the start. My dog had a lipoma growing in the back of his leg. I took him in to this vet to have it removed and $1600 later. The surgical site didn't look good. I reached out with concerns about his wound opening up and bleeding. They initially dismissed my concerns saying that a little blood was normal. I sent them photos of what it looked like and I didn't get a response until the next day still giving me the run around. Finally I brought him in for them to take a look. Over the p... read more

We are sorry to hear you were not satisfied with your experience. You bring up several points of misunderstanding that we would like the opportunity to clarify. In answer to your concerns about cost, the total you mentioned included a dental cleaning and oral health assessment that you requested to add on the day of the surgery. The follow up visit at no charge is hospital policy, as we believe in reassessing our surgical work, but any additional recommendations are reviewed on a treatment plan with an estimate of cost. Drove from Winchester to have my dog seen. Once we arrived we were told there was a wait due to an emergency. We waited about an hour and we're called in to a room and obtained chief complaint. Once we waited even longer in the room we were told we had to leave. Tried to make an appointment to be seen the next day as my dog has been ill and they couldn't take us in and accommodate after they knew the situation. I am beyond disappointed with South Temecula Veterinary Hospital. I've been taking my dog here for years and I will... read more

Christian, we know your time is valuable and can understand how frustrating being inconvenienced by an emergency can be. We always try to communicate our wait times to the best of our ability, but unfortunately the emergency that particular day was surgical and required our full staff and resources to address. After reviewing your record, I do see our team contacted you the next morning and we were able to see your pet that same day and address your concerns. Please let us know if you have any other concerns and we would be ... read more
I'm responding to the comment left by this vet clinic. I was told by the doctor at this clinic that my cat's ear had to heal before a biopsy could be performed. They sent my cat off with a cone for the second time with no referral to a specialist. I called back to report that my cat's ear wasn't healing and I received no response. My next step was to take my cat to ARK, where not only was Hemmingway seen immediately, but regardless of Covid, I was able to be with my pet and talk one on one with the amazing, competent doct... read more

Shay, we take your feedback very seriously and are deeply saddened you feel this way. We can assure you that your kitty was seen by a knowledgeable doctor and staff. We have reviewed our records and we did in fact recommend the biopsy at your visit. We would be happy to review the records and all recommendations made, should you wish to give us a call to discuss further. Thank you.
7/5/2021-Had 0830 appt. This am. Wait turned into 45 wait. Have been going to this vet for years. Tech working this morning showing no compasion, just irritation, by having to deal with senior dog who has difficulty seeing and hearing. And I waited 45 minutes! No thanks!
Business response:
Jo Marie, we know your time is valuable and can assure you we make every effort to see clients in a timely manner. We are sorry to perceive our sensitivity toward your senior pet as compassionate, but I can assure you we have the deepest care and compassion for all of our patients. We appreciate you taking the time to reach out and are always open to feedback and suggestions.
I brought my six month old boxer here about a year back to get spade, and they literally cut one of her arteries, and did something wrong and sewed her back up and gave her back to us, when we got her back she was a completely different dog, she went from being happy to standing in one spot all day looking at the wall, less than 2 days later she fell on the floor and was leaking fluid from her nose, mouth, wound, and rectum. We started driving to an emergency vet and she died in the back seat of our car. This animal hospital... read more
I have taken my dogs to South Veternary Clinic since the late 1990s, and the service has deteriorated. First of all, it is very difficult to get an appointment. After waiting a very long time on hold, I found out the soonest appointment was 2-weeks away, so I took it even though my dog needed care sooner. I continually called and got my dog in sooner because they had a cancellation. The appointment process is awful: You have to wait in your car outside the clinic, call the front office to let them know you're there (expect t... read more

Lisa, we are truly sorry to hear your recent experiences did not met your expectations. While your frustration about wait times and scheduling is understandable, please be assured we are making every effort to help as many pets who need our care as we possibly can. The demand for veterinary care has grown exponentially in the last year and a half, and we are doing our very best to ensure care is available when it is needed. Many of the concerns you noted are artifacts of the demand for care: long hold times on the phone due ... read more
Took my suffering boy down to get him put to rest. This is the first place I called to get it done today. Yet there was no doctor available. How can a vet office have no doctor present?
Been coming here for years with 4 different dogs. Brought our dog here for possible vaginal discharge and rash on her neck. Was given medication and told to come back in a week. Medication was for the discharge as they forgot to tell the Dr to look at the rash on her neck. Week later brought her back, they said abdominal area is tender. Perhaps foxtail is in her vaginal area (note she was on antibiotics for 6 days and no discharge I expected them to say everything was fine) they said to Leave her here and we will sedate ... read more
Really liked this place in the past, but sadly they went to hell with their ability to diagnose and provide competent care. Let me explain, took our dog there and without running a blood panel, prescribed 3 medications including Rymadil. Took our dog back after a week, where they "then decided" to run a blood panel (which they should have done a week earlier). There were some elevated markers, but again since we had no baseline to compare to - we don't know if these were the results of a week long being on the 3 medication t... read more

Hi Marty, we are sorry to hear you were not satisfied with your pet's visit. We aim to provide the highest quality of care to your furry friend and are saddened that you felt otherwise. Although we close at 6pm, we always stay late to see through our patient's care. The test that was not finished when you called back determines how quickly your pet's blood clots, which is significantly increased after a rattlesnake bite. We can assure you that when the doctor examined him there was not swelling present under his chin, but as... read more
