I myself have been having issues for months with this horrible company!!!I I receive bills just a day or two before due date or after the due date. I would give it a ZERO! impossible to reach billing! If you leave message for a callback, they either call you back days later when you're not around or don't even return the call. Receiving bills that i am behind when i have been on auto pay for years. The utilities board should be investigating their practices!!

Spruce has managed to make a billing nightmare even worse! They were supposed to be an upgrade from the previous billing department. Incorrect billing every month, cannot reach anyone, email response takes weeks and then sends you in circles to even attempt to make a payment. If I could take the solar off my house to not deal with Spruce ever again I would.

I would rate Spruce a 0 if it was possible. Been with the company (not by choice) for 2 years. Customer service has been horrible, at best….. started a transfer process, paid the upfront fee of $550. They advertised 8-12 business days to completion. Today, 14 days later I was emailed with a notification that they are placing my file in hold due to my payment that will be due May 1. Energy Service Experts/Spruce Power This is the worst company to deal with! They mess up the bills! When calling them, nobody picks up the phone! When using an option to have a callback nobody calls back! Emailing them is like sending an email to the black hole! Overcharging customers' bookkeeping can't keep up with payments causing Financial hardships. Through their autopay system, I've been overcharged several times. Horrible customer service, they can never provide answers to questions and that’s only if you actually get a response. Their billing portal is not functioning nearly all of the time. We purchased a home that already had a lease agreement in place. I would never recommend this company to anyone. If I could terminate our agreement without having to pay thousands of dollars I would.

Spruce bought out the old Solar company and didnt buy out the whole contract that I had. The billing got all messed up and it took me a year to prove to them I was paying the correct amount. I went from owning them to a 400.00 refund then back to owing them 700.00. All the while I paid monthly the same amount. Now that is taken care of I had to have the solar taken off so I could get a new roof and I used the same company that put the roof on. The company is very unprofessional. Home transfer process is very complicated and costly $500 to transfer solar panels an an additional $500 if you want them to rush the transfer. Make sure you keep track of the process they will tack on random charges to delay the process and will not contact you. Hold times to speak to a representative is about 30-60 minutes. Don’t fall for the call back they never call back and you can’t speak to a supervisor because their always “in a meeting” and they never call back.
