Horrible customer service, they can never provide answers to questions and that’s only if you actually get a response. Their billing portal is not functioning nearly all of the time. We purchased a home that already had a lease agreement in place. I would never recommend this company to anyone. If I could terminate our agreement without having to pay thousands of dollars I would.
Spruce bought out the old Solar company and didnt buy out the whole contract that I had. The billing got all messed up and it took me a year to prove to them I was paying the correct amount. I went from owning them to a 400.00 refund then back to owing them 700.00. All the while I paid monthly the same amount. Now that is taken care of I had to have the solar taken off so I could get a new roof and I used the same company that put the roof on. The company is very unprofessional. Home transfer process is very complicated and costly $500 to transfer solar panels an an additional $500 if you want them to rush the transfer. Make sure you keep track of the process they will tack on random charges to delay the process and will not contact you. Hold times to speak to a representative is about 30-60 minutes. Don’t fall for the call back they never call back and you can’t speak to a supervisor because their always “in a meeting” and they never call back.
This is the worst company to deal with! They mess up the bills! When calling them, nobody picks up the phone! When using an option to have a call back nobody calls back! Emailing them is like like sending an email to the black hole! What a nightmare!!!

I have had Spruce through home purchase in 2019. Every money the lease payment is different and hard for budgeting. 2020 they did a inhouse switch and applied the wrong months payment months later causiing me to be past due $89.75 and then turned over to collections. That issue took 7 months of going back and forth with Customer Service to see where the error occured. Collections answer was charge my credit card. Overcharging customers bookkeeping can't keep up with payments causing Financial hardships
I bought a house with a leased solar panel system that is owned by Spruce and I cannot express enough how much you should avoid doing any business with this company. I'd go so far as to say you shouldn't enter a solar lease at all with any company because there is a chance the lease will be acquired by Spruce like mine was.
