Spruce Power makes it impossible to pay your bill on time. They suddenly stopped accepting my credit card (which still to this day works fine for everyone else) for autopay without notifying me. My paper statements still said I was enrolled in autopay but hidden on the back, it said I hadn't paid and started accruing late fees. Next I tried to login online to pay. Company is literally trying to steal money from people. They put a random tax on one bill after ten years with my solar panels. Then added a late fee to the fraudulent charge from them. Totally incompetent company. I would strongly advise staying away from this company

On july/August 2021 we had a lot of rain in Windsor - CT, Hartford county and our house showed signs of liking. We call our Insurance company and they refused to check for anything because of the solar panels. We contactec Spruce Solar Panels and we explained the situation, and in a very rude manner they told us that we had to remove the panels, with a written authorization from them, fix the roof and then call back for a written authorization to put them back at our cost. Spruce made a switch to their billing system in February 2023, which kicked off their customers from the auto-pay, as confirmed by their customer support representatives. However, this change resulted in an issue with my account being reported to ********as delinquent. I discovered this through my credit monitoring service and promptly contacted Spruce Power's customer support on June 9th. I got the solar panel lease from a home sale in 2021, then the panels are generating very little generation if not at all. The bills are based on estimate which is basically full amount assume all panels are working perfectly. I asked them to come to fix the panels last August. After numerous emails and phone calls, the technician showed up two times, and now they are waiting for some parts, which seems taking forever. I am fustrated like all the other customers related to Spruce. I live in Hawaii and have been trying to reach someone in regards to fixing my inverters that is not working. I emailed them and a tech support by the name of Terrick S emailed and wanted to know what was wrong and to send them info. Terrick S. Last February, I received by mail a notice of change of account number due to an"improvement" in their billing system. Before February, I had no issue with the payment and billing as my bill was paid by ACH withdrawal. On March 1st, I received a bill of $73.35 included a fee of $4.75 for insufficient fund, which was due on March 1st. At the same time, they sent me a bill of $68.79 with a due date of 4/1/2023. Their billing system failed and with zero notice or attempts to reach me, they dinged my credit score stating that my payment was late. Mind you, I was enrolled in autopay, had plenty of funds in my account, and their system showed that autopay was set up correctly and that the payment as processing. Zero calls, emails, letters from Spruce Power. It turns out, they updated their billing system and had a technical glitch on their end. Yet they didn't notify me and instead dinged my credit score. Customer Service is an oxymoron. A simple bookkeeping problem that we've been told many times has been corrected by them has not been. Now they have the gall to report us to the Credit Bureau! NRG, the original owner, was a pleasure to deal with -- they actually hired competent people! We're fed up, angry and headed to an attorney after this episode. Advice to anyone scouting this company? Stay far, far away!
