Worse customer service I’ve encountered in my adult life. I pay my bills early and these knuckleheads continue to bill me over and over again for payments I’ve already made. To contact them and try to speak to someone is a nightmare as well. Endless phone loops, no helpful people whatsoever. I’m going to cut my losses and remove this crap on my roof. I’ll go with a legitimate solar company. These guys are bad news and could care less about taking care of their clients. Buyer Beware
Our solar was down from 3/2022 and finally fixed 7/2023. This company expects us to pay solar when the system has been down and not producing for 1 year and 4 months and not giving us a revised Bill. I was paying for my utility bill also. They were estimating my monthly invoice. The inventer and meter was replaced in July , which is needed to prduced. If I could have given this a negative 5 rating I would! Spruce took over my contract from direct energy. As of today my roof and inside my home has been severely damaged. I contacted them to fix the leak and damage per contract! They informed me since they took over that they will not take any responsibility! I’ve also filed a complaint with the attorney general. If i could give a zero I would. My system has gone down twice in the last 10 months. I was never advised that it is my responsibility to monitor my system from across the country. I am a snowbird. Went to solar to be a responsible consumer and protector of the environment. Since Kilowatt Systems became Spruce there has been nothing but headaches. No help with high utility bills because of equipment failure. No refund of monthly fees for a year when the production guarantee numbers are reviewed. What a total scam. I will be c... read more
I have had so many issues with Spruce Power. But the latest is they charged me an extra $1 for paper statement delivery with NO notice. I chatted with them and they claim they have sent a warning about this via our delivery preference (which mine was paper). They also claim they sent an email as well. I received neither. I looked at every statement I got from Spruce Power and they didn't say a single time that they were going to start charging for paper delivery. Spruce Power has not provided services for money they have collected from us. Upon accepting an offer on our home at **** ********** ** ** ****** ** in the month of October, we were asked by our buyer for a print out of the production . Our lease states that Spruce Power is responsible for keeping the system in good working order. Spruce Power purchased/acquired my solar company and what a joke. In doing a title research, there is ONE employee with a Mail Drop in San Francisco (even though they are billing me from Texas). The telephone line is simply a hired answering service who have zero information and while they tell you someone will call you back, it never happens. My panels have been non-functional for four months. Spruce's customer service line has been hacked and you get a room full of people trying to give you a Walmart gift card and then they hang up on you. I have blocked my lease payments, so I guess they will call me? Don't know what else to do.
My solar unit has been down since May 2023 and they have not come out to fix my solar panel unit and it is costing me hundreds of dollars more in energy bills. Every time I call they tell me that my work order is pending and they are waiting to hear back from the contractor, Solar x. I'm waiting two months later for them to come out and replace my unit. In the meantime I may never incur the money I lost from my solar panels being inoperable.
