We’ve had multiple horrible experiences with Spruce: 1) they double-charged us for about 1 year causing a large credit on my account. They were taking my payments but saying they never received them. I confirmed I was paying and they made me pay double. About a year later the payments were later applied to the account showing the credit and that they were taking money twice. 2) Solar panels caused roof damage. They will not come and assess the damage and said there is nothing they can do claiming we owe them money. Keep in m... read more

This company should be sued! Inconsistent solar production but very consistent overbilling. Company refuses to provide itemized monthly usage, rates, fees, etc., only provides statement with payment due. Legal rep tells me I have to call each month to request my itemized usage and they can send to me. Ok, so I have to take the time each month requesting what should already be provided to me? This company is ZERO stars.

I have no idea how this company is still in business! You will be paying outrageous prices monthly!!!! Customer service does not care, thwey dont return calls when promised, they never respond to emails..AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!

I pay my bill the day I get it every month but still get a late fee. They send the bill so late that there isn't enough time for the payment to be returned to the company in time to avoid a late fee. I was told I needed to sign up for automated payment but I don't trust company after so many random charges. Or I can call in my payment for an additional $5 fee or get a monthly statement again for a $5 fee. All of my options = additional fees. Every month it is something that requires a call. This company is horrible. They took over NRG and since then, it's one problem after another. I have been unable to see any production of solar from my panels since Feb 28, 2022 in their portal. Getting the run around from Customer Service to no avail. Held back payment the past 2 months and now they are harassing me for payment, but no one can call me to fix my service issue. Use another Solar company if you're reading this. Keep away from Spruce!

I am a Realtor. My seller client has solar panels whose lease was taken over by Spruce. The buyer for the property has been rejected by Spruce twice with no explanation. They have good credit and can easily afford the lease. Spruce will not tell them why and that they have to wait 30 days for a rejection letter that will supposedly explain why. This is holding up the sale. After many calls by my client, she said she would report them to consumer affairs. Spruce said "go ahead, we don't care."

My complaint is the same as the other customers. I have been paying my bill faithfully every month and my balance does not reflect. Stating that I owed 3 months. I have been dealing with the customer service for over 1 year now and sending multiple proofs of payment, statements from bank. I have been told multiple of times that my case as been escalated and someone will call me back in 24 to 48 hours. No call received. Awful company. Zero stars would be correct . Paper bills come AFTER the due date. I pay them. Late fees accrue and they never apply the check I send until 2 billing cycles later, however I can see it cleared promptly actually.. They told me the best option was to switch to online statements (electronic) but fail to mention Yahoo emails won’t receive them. Another month and now another increased late charge for 25$.
