We have 50 solar panels. 13 of them are not producing due to microinverters not reporting and needing to be replaced. Amber at Spruce Power says they won't replace the devices because the system is meeting 'the production guarantee'. She further states that, if the system begins to fail to meet the 'production guarantee', they would initiate a work order. 3 weeks ago we called the Billing department with our complaint regarding overcharges. In the last 5 months of 2021 they overcharged us by 493 kWh. The man on the other side took our information and told us someone will get back to us in 2 to 4 days. Of course nobody called, our emails are undeliverable and the site doesn’t work. So what now? This company is horrible. My issue with them is customer service and billings. They have been charging me "non-ACH" fees for not joining their automatic payment program. The contract states a discount for joining, but they are coursing customers into joining by charging customers a fee if they do not. They also charge late charges if you don't pay by the 1st. ZERO STARS! SPRUCE POWER is a fraud. Since middle June 2021 my systems has been running at 66% capacity. I have 13 panels not in service. When I call them I get the run around. They have been nothing but a problem throughout the season of COVID - billing was screwed up, customer service went to the crapper, the even tried "collections" on a regularly due payment that was not due yet. we pay our bill in good faith but Spruce does not operate in good faith. I have had the same problems as many others have shared. I sent three faxes about production last year October, November and December with NO RESPONSE. They have three production data print outs and they are all different. I told them I will not pay them anything until they answer my question about production. NO RESPONSE but I still get a monthly statement that is so convoluted you can not understand it. Please somebody put these crooks out of business.
My experience is just like the other reviews. It has been a total disaster dealing with this company over the past month and I have proven that they did not apply a payment yet I get no response. Calling customer service means waiting on the line for at least 30 minutes only to find that the person answering the phone can not deal with the issue you are calling about.
0 stars is what should be allowed. The only good thing here is knowing that I am not the only one having these SAME issues. Customer service, horrible. My issue is that I bought a house recently with leased solar. I get my first bill and it says I am on autopay, which I am not. I have not set anything up with the company yet. Spruce Power and KiloWatt Finance continually claim I have missed a payment, which I have not! I have canceled checks to prove it. I have called both phone numbers listed and they are either not answered or you are put on hold indefinitely (45 minutes then I hung up). I will wait for them to call me.
Can we give them negative stars? Calls and emails go unreturned. There is no case manager for problems. When emails are answered, it is always a different representative returning emails and they can never solve a problem. I'm getting bills at a rate of over $1.00 per KwH, when my contract is set at $0.177. The last "manager" I spoke with told me many customers pay over $1.00 per KwH, which is a patently absurd statement.
