Communication was kind of bad at first and I think they overcharged my whole attention man was fixing my car to get smog and I didn't know they small cars there and they should have smog my car instead I had to go somewhere else and it didn't pass and I paid over $600 for their services

Business response:

Sorry you had this experience, Ramon. We understand how frustrating it is to feel like communication was unclear and to end up paying for service while still having to go somewhere else for your smog test. After looking into this, we were not able to find a record under your name at our Sacramento location, and we also do not perform smog inspections. Because of that, it seems possible this review may have been intended for a different shop. That said, we still appreciate you taking the time to share what happened. If ther... read more

It is unclear at this point. I put my car in to clear for smog. After $650 of service, failed smog. Will take in for retest. More later. Negative review.

Business response:

Richard, we understand why you are disappointed after paying for service intended to help the vehicle pass smog and then receiving a failed result. Smog-related repairs can sometimes require additional diagnosis or a completed drive cycle before a vehicle is ready to pass, but those expectations should be explained clearly before and after the work is performed. We would like to review the recommendations, repairs completed, and test results to better understand what happened. Please email founders@stressfree.com with your... read more

Brought in car a week ago for a hard start. They suggested diagnostic. We brought it in the following Saturday for diagnosis and they held it for 3 days, checked the battery and the alternator, charged us 107, said it was fine. Car still hard starts. DONT BRING YOUR CAR HERE

Business response:

Hi Dalia, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're very sorry to hear your experience left you feeling disappointed. We understand how frustrating it is to leave your vehicle with us for several days, pay for a diagnostic inspection, and then continue experiencing the same hard-start issue after picking it up. We can certainly appreciate why that would leave you questioning the value of the diagnostic process. At Stress-Free Auto Care, our responsibility is to perform a thorough diagnostic process, clea... read more

The lady Naomi at the front desk had an attitude and she smelled horrible. Like an ashtray. Very unprofessional

Business response:

Sorry you had this experience, Lee. We want every visit to our Sacramento shop to feel welcoming and professional, so it’s disappointing to hear that your interaction at the front desk left you with this impression. We take feedback like this seriously, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. Your comments have been shared internally and will be addressed. We are always working to improve the experience our customers have from the moment they walk through the door. If you’d be open to it, we are eager to help m... read more

Avoid this shop at all cost! I took my 2017 Kia Sorento to this shop to be diagnosed because my check engine light was on. I paid $140 for a diagnostic which I thought was reasonable. No problems. Rhey came back and stated it could be my tining chain or a pin on the engine that is commonly messed up in these engines. I paid an ADDITIONAL $500 for that. That pin indeed was not broken and it was decided it was my timing chain. I had an appointment to drop my car off May 4 to be fixed. Because of their vendor not having the pa... read more

Business response:

Danielle, sorry you had this experience. We understand how upsetting it is to have a major issue come up after recent repairs, and we can see why you’d feel frustrated by both the situation and the communication. After reviewing the history on your Sorento, our records show the timing chain repair was completed in May and that the vehicle returned weeks later with a seized engine and no oil present. We also noted the vehicle had been driven thousands of miles after the original repair. Based on that information, our team wa... read more

I made an appointment for 10AM for a vehicle to be reviewed and analyzed prior to my purchase. They didn't even pull in the car to start the review to over 2 hours later. It is pretty ridiculous to make an appointment for an hour long service and have it take over 3 hour of my day.

Business response:

Hi Nik, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're very sorry to hear your experience didn't meet your expectations. We understand how frustrating it is to schedule an appointment for a service you were told would take about an hour, only to wait more than two hours before your vehicle was even brought into the shop. We know your time is valuable, and when customers make an appointment, they should be able to rely on us to respect that commitment. At Stress-Free Auto Care, our responsibility is to provide... read more

I recently left a negative, one star, review of this business that has somehow been removed. My experience with these folks goes back several years since they bought out the previous shop that was there for years and had serviced my vehicles for a long time. At first, they seemed to be run well, and I spent thousands for various repairs over time. Most of the work performed was done well until the previous manager and staff were replaced by the current crew. After they replaced the pan gasket on my 2002 F-150 I continued to... read more

Business response:

Keith, we’re sorry you had this experience and appreciate you taking the time to share these concerns. We understand how upsetting it must have been to deal with an ongoing leak and then have a much more serious issue develop afterward. We also want to acknowledge your frustration about your previous review. We do not want any customer to feel unheard or dismissed, and we’re sorry this situation has left you with that impression. Our team takes concerns about diagnostics and post-repair issues seriously, and feedback like ... read more

They weren't great. They tried to overcharge me for a part by hundreds of dollars. When I showed them the price of the part online, they said that they can't price match and I can't bring my own part in.

Business response:

Hi Devyn, Sorry you had this experience, Devyn. We understand how frustrating it can feel when repair pricing doesn’t line up with what you’re seeing online. Our team does follow company policy when it comes to parts sourcing, which includes not installing customer-provided parts and not matching retail or online parts pricing. That said, we can see how this may have come across as disappointing or unclear during your visit. We always want customers to feel informed and respected when discussing repair options, and we’re ... read more

My relationship with stress free started off well. They seemed to actually care about taking care of your car while give you peace of mind. That quickly changed once I needed to return for my car for additional service. So if you have something that's not too serious this is a good place, and they are able to fix the problem the first time you're good. Otherwise good luck getting any real help. They don't care once you pay for your service they are done. I paid over 1800 for work on my car and it's not right to take my mone... read more

Business response:

Hi Kiara, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're very sorry to hear that what began as a positive experience ultimately left you feeling frustrated and disappointed. Reading through your review, it's clear the biggest issue wasn't simply the repair itself—it was that you felt your concerns were no longer a priority after the initial service was completed. We understand how discouraging it is to invest significantly in repairs and continue experiencing the same problem afterward. We can also appreciat... read more
