I've reviewed these guys as superstars before, but at nearly 30 years of them taking care of my BMW so that it runs like a clock, I want to reiterate that they are truly amazing in the quality and consideration of their work. It's worth the nearly 90-minute one-way-drive to work with people who I know I can trust implicitly. I've never been disappointed... only gratified by their expertise.

My car had an oil pan gasket leak, so I took into the Mtn View shop. Paul and the guys did a great job. They found the leak and repaired/fixed it. While in the shop they gifted me a loaner vehicle to get around town. Thanks Paul. Tell all the guys "Thanks". I highly recommend using them if you own a German made vehicle. Quotes are fairly accurate unless they find something else is causing the issue to be repaired. They call, text and email updates, as needed. They work around your schedule, too. Great team!!!!!

Same day appointment, very professional, fair pricing, friendly staff, safe location, clean office and wait room, thorough car inspection and detailed report, constant text updates, quick service. I came in for a battery issue thinking that a battery replacement was necessary. Instead, Paul suggested to test the battery, found the root cause, and was able to fix the issue without a new battery. Very happy with the service.

The service advisor listened to me and was able to take care of the primary problem for less than half of the estimate from another shop. He was knowledgeable, friendly and practical all at the same time.

This shop is first class. They have gone the extra mile for me getting parts for a 2013 Mini-Cooper. For repairs not taking that long, the comfortable waiting room is a plus. I recently had an issue which required several days of diagnosis. They paid for a Lyft to get me to my house. You can't go wrong with Stress-Free/German Motor Specialists.
My wife went to get some tires changed here and they gave a "free inspection" essentially saying half the car was falling apart trying to charge thousands of dollars for totally unnecessary work. They told her that her car was "unsafe" to drive and that all the repairs were critical. They tried to charge her $400 to replace her one year old battery lol Just so everyone is aware, literally every car part store on the planet will change your battery for free with the purchase of the battery. I am updating my review since GMS Independent shop specializing in German autos (hence, German Motor Specialist) was taken over by a generalist "Stress-Free" Auto care, they are no longer the same indy shop I trusted.
