Putting Covid BS to the side.... unfortunately I cannot recommend Sumner Vet. Today 5/5/2021 was my last chance of giving them another chance. Very unorganized, vets do not communicate with owners. If unable to contact you via phone and your sitting in the parking lot.... well you're SOL because they won't send anyone out to let you know the vet is trying to contact you. You call for info they'll have the vet contact you. So point being.... dog having puppies already lost 2. Ask for x-rays to see how many there are. Meanwhil... read more

Business response:

I called all over for Urgent care but clinics were at capacity. I called Sumner Vet and was told come on down and that to call when I got there and they’d send someone out to take a look. I drove all the way from Spanaway, parked, called and she took my info. No one ever came out. 1.5 hrs went by and I called and was told there were a few more ahead of me. I waited another 1.5 hrs to call and get an update. The gentleman asked “did anyone say anything to you about the wait time when you got here?” I told him no AND not... read more

Business response:

Leslie, we know your time is valuable and can assure you we make every effort to see clients in a timely manner. As a walk-in clinic we cannot always predict the wait-time. Emergency cases also take priority at times and do cause inevitable delays. We always try to communicate our wait times to the best of our ability and our wait times are marked on the very large sign right by the front door.

My dog had surgery here about 4 weeks ago. We waited 6+ hours then just for him to be seen. Then I was told there would be no need for an appointment to get the stitches out. They said he would skip the line and it would take them 10 minutes. Well 2 and a half hours later they get his stitches out. THEN!!!! We had to wait 6 hours AGAIN to find out they MISSED one of the stitches and caused server irritation. After thousands of dollars for the surgery they made us pay for the sedation and new antibiotics for their mistake. I ... read more

Maybe diagnose an animal instead of giving pain killers. By far the worst place I've ever dealt with.

Business response:

They refused you fill a medication for my dog because I they wanted to see him. But they didn't tell me! My dog is now in too much pain for me too take him in and three management wouldn't even talk to me, they made the new girl run around! Sorry Serena, but you should get a job where they actually cares about animals!

Business response:

Wendee, thank you for the review. We have reviewed your case and have shared information internally.

Y'all are supposed to save animals regardless of a person's income. I am so upset y'all sent my poor kitty home when she needed to be there. You couldn't even help, mind you I'm a mother of 5 kids and one was born at 23 weeks and is disabled. our cat is our first and only pet we've had. I had to explain to.my 6 and 7 yrs old little boys that they had to be prepared for if our family cat died, and she still has a long recovery to go. She's still not good. It saddens me that my cats life wasn't worth saving due to money issues... read more

7-8 hours to see, treat and release a pup with excessive vomiting issues is beyond belief. Kept citing Critical patients Recommend? No.

Too busy wait time are always crazy long..talking many hours. Also crazy expensive to include the medication which seemed to be inflated way more then 500% for carprofen. Will admit the staff was very friendly and caring.

Business response:

Hello Jay, thank you for the feedback. We have seen a significant increase of patients coming through our emergency service. We strive to help every patient that comes to us in need. We prioritize all critical patients as they come in. Once we are able to determine if your pet is stable and not experiencing a medical emergency, we will provide you with options for care. We do have General Practice appointments available if you need to schedule. Thank you!

Terrible bedside manner, all they care about is getting their money (which they inflate and charge outrageous amounts for anything and everything). We took our 3 month old puppy here because he was sick, they told us he had Parvo even though he tested negative for it TWICE. They wanted us to keep him there for a week at $1,000+ a day, which we couldn’t afford so they sent us home and told us to hope for the best. Turns out the little guy just had worms and just needed a dewormer.... how does a professional veterinarian miss ... read more
