NOT VALUE PET CLINIC ANYMORE! !! When it was value pet clinic it was a good place for pets. Now they just want to upsell you and completely overcharged me admittedly. My regular check up visit ended up costing me twice as much because THEY did not inform me properly plus they couldn't do anything about it he said. The whole experience felt violating and the vet barely pet him let alone "examined" anything. In the end my routine check up nearly cost me $900 and I didn't have any kind of emergency. I brought my two 6-7 week old kittens to them. I had just found them at the pound and neither looked healthy. I am grateful that they got me right in. The male kitten had filthy ears and crusted eyes but was actually relateively healthy. The female looked ok but turned out to have been exposed to FeLV. The vet kept pushing insurance on me for the two kittens despite the fact I kept telling her the female would be given to another home as soon as healthy. I've been going to Value Pet Clinic for about 3 years now. It's hard to get an appointment when checking in at 8am because they're always so busy and bad at handling wait times and over scheduling appointments. I had to pay for an Urgent Care visit after trying to get a regular appointment for over two weeks, it's was about twice as expensive as the other appointments but I didn't want to make my pet wait and suffer any longer. HORRIBLE!!! First got there sat for about 2 hours waiting to be seen I had called and they said to be there at 11 okay at 11 I show up waited 2 hours for my dog to even be seen I was really disappointed because I was there before everyone and other people go to go in first finally at about 1 someone comes and get my dog they take him in and say they would call me with options on what to do for his ear infection that he has been having they called and tryed to say it would be 1,000!!!! If I could give negative stars I would I've taken my dogs to Value Pet for a long time, even before it switched over to Tacoma Animal Hospital. I initially had my dog set up to get his teeth done on a Friday. I got a call the night prior saying the appt had to be canceled and they could offer me another appointment three weeks later. Knowing the state of my dog's teeth, I did not want him to wait any longer. They squeezed me in 5 days later, although it took significant finagling of my schedule to accommodate. Pros: -they got my cat in quickly -most of the staff was friendly Cons: About a month ago I brought my cat in because he was throwing up. They requested a stool sample so I checked his litter box and brought the only piece I could find, which was visibly kind of old. Took my kitten here for vaccine shots, overly moist eyes and to check into his breathing because it seemed a little heavy. Although I made an appointment, I waited two hours to get in. After sitting in their parking lot for 4 hours we finally got our check-up completed and quotes for further services. Not only did they provide me with $750 worth of tests, but they pushed their paw plan pet insurance on me repeatedly. I recently moved to Tacoma and with an ill cat had to quickly find a vet nearby to see her. A number of cat specific places weren't taking new patients, so I went with Tacoma Animal Hospital because they were able to get me in immediately. Unfortunately, that is where my good experience with this clinic ended. Because of COVID, you do not get to go in, see the Vet face to face, or have a more human interaction. For this, I understand. This place was way better when it was Value Pet Clinic. They're waaaayyyyy overpriced I have my receipt from last year, raised the price almost $20. Also this visit they charged me for an office exam which I think is a joke cause they didn't say whether or not my dog was healthy or if anything was wrong with her, like the ear infection she has.
