If I could give negative stars I would I've taken my dogs to Value Pet for a long time, even before it switched over to Tacoma Animal Hospital. I initially had my dog set up to get his teeth done on a Friday. I got a call the night prior saying the appt had to be canceled and they could offer me another appointment three weeks later. Pros: -they got my cat in quickly -most of the staff was friendly Cons: About a month ago I brought my cat in because he was throwing up. They requested a stool sample so I checked his litter box and brought the only piece I could find, which was visibly kind of old. When I got there they asked me the regular questions and when they asked if he had pooped I let them know I wasn't sure, but that I brought a sample they could look at. Took my kitten here for vaccine shots, overly moist eyes and to check into his breathing because it seemed a little heavy. Although I made an appointment, I waited two hours to get in. After sitting in their parking lot for 4 hours we finally got our check-up completed and quotes for further services. Not only did they provide me with $750 worth of tests, but they pushed their paw plan pet insurance on me repeatedly. I recently moved to Tacoma and with an ill cat had to quickly find a vet nearby to see her. A number of cat specific places weren't taking new patients, so I went with Tacoma Animal Hospital because they were able to get me in immediately. Unfortunately, that is where my good experience with this clinic ended. Because of COVID, you do not get to go in, see the Vet face to face, or have a more human interaction. For this, I understand. This place was way better when it was Value Pet Clinic. They're waaaayyyyy overpriced I have my receipt from last year, raised the price almost $20. Also this visit they charged me for an office exam which I think is a joke cause they didn't say whether or not my dog was healthy or if anything was wrong with her, like the ear infection she has. This place doesn't value their customers at all. My cat and I arrived just before our appointment time only to be told there is no doctor available. My appointment was confirmed the day before. I work nights and woke up early to go sit in a parking lot only to be sent away. They wasted my time and stressed my cat for no reason. Horrible customer service.
Very upset with this visit ! I don't think I will be coming back to be honest. It was a very hot day and they took so long to come out ,they literally took and hour and a half to come get my puppies and on top of that I had my baby and my 1 year old in the car . Not only that but when the lady came out to the car she started speaking to me in Spanish and said sorry for taking long but that she was the only Spanish speaking person they had and she was a little busy that's why they took long to come out and get me. Charge my credit card twice for the same service, then just waited to see if I would notice instead of contacting me about it. Watch your bank statements; not to be trusted.

The check in process is horrible. They tout that you need to text at exactly 8am, which I've done repeatedly on various days and somehow they are always full already at EXACTLY 8 am. The staff acts like they above reproach, and they never answer their phone. This place sucks. I'm looking for another vet. My fur-buddies deserve better than this horrible place. I only wish there was a rating for less than 1 star. Anyone I know will no longer go here either.

We receive over a dozen texts and our lines are full at 8am. We see as many patients as we are able to safely see in a day.
