My Husband wanted to check this place out, as we have been seeing it when we go to The Broken Yolk across the walkway. We arrived and were greeted to be seated right away. The customer service here is great. Our server was a nice lady and she took our drink order right away. We ordered: 1 horchata and 1 water. We perused the menu and found which tacos that we wanted to try. Our server came back with our drinks and we placed our food order: 1 Carne Asada Taco + Queso ($1.25 extra) no onions, 1 Suadero (Brisket) Tostada no... read more

Hi, Eduardo. Thank you so much for leaving us a stellar review!
I really enjoyed the Mulita I had here! Better then Tacos el Gordo. We stopped by after a movie and decided to get a quick bite before shopping. Daisy helped us and explained the whole menu and what was most popular, we had been wanting to try this place so it was nice to hear what everyone else orders. My fiancee got a adobada mulita and I got a mixta (adobada and carne) mulita. They were delicious. Cheese melted perfect and tasty meats. I also really enjoyed their salsaa, spicy but also really flavorful. Could have used ... read more

Hi, Taelyr. Your feedback is highly appreciated. Thank you for the review!
The service was good, I enjoyed the michelda but the tacos lacked flavor. Over priced tacos.
Wish they had the classic counter set up like they do in Tijuana; it is incredibly annoying to have to go in and sit down, especially with how crazy the line can get. Even when there is no line, I rarely want to make my whole party stop and sit down just to get a taco. In addition, the wait for food after sitting down is also quite long. Food is pretty good, I think their more niche cuts of meat like lengua and cabeza are better than other places, but their carne asada is not the best in SD. Their fries are very generous, t... read more
The food is good and it's close to what you get in Tijuana. That's also the problem, the tacos are the same size as Tijuana yet $5 a piece. I spent easy 100+ on my two tiny kids and another adult who barely eats. I think I'm better off driving to Tijuana itself and paying less than half for probably better quality food. The service wasn't great they bring you the food stating what it is and dart off. Maybe I needed more salsa maybe more lemons? Maybe a refill on a drink which was never asked. I try to be reasonable because... read more
Tacos el Franc is a 10/10 in my books!!!! Best tacos! So yummy!!! It's also a really good location with parking. Service is really good as well! I recommend trying the quesadillas and the orange agua fresca! Delicious! They're dog friendly!

Hi, Maria. We are thrilled to learn that you had a positive experience with us!
Yes, it will likely be the most expensive Carne Asada fries in the area. Yes, your order will take longer than other places. Yes, it will be average sized. Yes, every ingredient will be perfectly flavored and make it worth every penny. I am a loyal Taco Stand customer but had to try Tacos El Franc on this side of the border. It was excellent. 5 stars all around. Only critique is they don't have a California Burrito on the menu. I know its not a Mexican dish/plate but if you're trying to stay open in the San Diego ma... read more

Hi, Luis. Thank you so much for leaving us a stellar review!
I waited til the hype died down to try this place here in San Diego and although they earned a Michelin star I wasn't impressed, I've definitely had way better and for a more reasonable price too! I tried several items on their menu and there was just one that stood out, their lengua taco was pretty tasty. I also tried their suadero, carne asada and al pastor tacos and carne asada mulita. Overall it was just okay. In my opinion it is very pricey. They even charge you for the chiles and grilled onions when it's usually co... read more
