This company lures you into promises of clearing your tax debt, but after you pay them $500 to investigate your tax debt, they then want an additional $3000 to continue handling your case. All they do for the first $500 fee is obtain your transcripts from the *** and state you live in, which you can do yourself. Upon further research, I learned that what they do doesnt eliminate your tax debt, its just put on hold! Basically, you will still owe your tax debt. I am a client with an active BBB Complaint Case #********. I officially terminated Tax Rise's services because their neglect caused the *** to assess a massive $2,300 a month liability against me. Tax Rise completely ignored the IRS Resolution Officer by refusing multiple direct phone calls, and they missed my mandatory 1040 filing back in May of 2026. Worst decision we've ever made was hiring Tax Rise (TR) to help with back taxes. We already had a installment agreement with the *** of $375 @ month to pay our debt for back taxes. My husband responded to a radio ad he heard from Tax Rise and contacted them to see if we could lower the amount owed. In a conference call with a TR salesman I asked the obvious question, would our hiring TR eliminate our back tax debt. and we would now only owe $8000 to TR? The answer was yes. This company is extremely unprofessional. They are providing misleading information to the clients. They make unrealistic and unattainable promises to clients. You are better off dealing with the *** on your own. When confronted they just cancel and close your case without your knowledge and turn around and say you said it. When you request to hear the recording, they fail to provide. Do not you utilize their services. They are horrible and the workers are not knowledgeable about taxes. This company has high ratings from the BBB. So, I contacted them to help negotiate away some tax penalties so I could pay off my tax debt. I had already set up an installment plan with the *** and had been paying more than the monthly required for 5+ years. Most of the overpayment, however, was going towards penalties. Horrible service. They were unable to keep several appointments, after I had paid upfront and submitted sensitive financial information, even after multiple email and text requests for me to confirm, which I did, of course. I recommend avoiding this service completely!!!

Tax rise has been bugging me for months? assuring me that all my tax problems will be cleared up, but instead, they signed me up for a loan that I had no knowledge of, they told me one fee, then took double payments from my account. Now they are literally harassing me non stop about a supposed loan I took out for me to pay it back. They claim I owe this money , however I never agreed to this. I have never even seen this money that they say I owe. Do not be like me, and accept what they tell u. U can do better than them.

I paid for taxrise to investigate my taxes with the understanding that the money paid would go towards resolving my taxes. They told me I owed too little and would need to talk to the *** myself. I could have told them that myself. That was definitely a waste of time and money. I want my $99 back.
