About The Chef My name is Paul Friedman and I like to think of myself as just an ordinary guy who has had a lifetime love affair with food and the fortune of having owned and operated 58 restaurants in South Africa, Europe and the United States. I grew up in what was known as the Transvaal province of South Africa, they called it the land of the Xhosas, one of the major ethnic tribes in this part of Africa. Together with fellow N'guni peoples, the Zulu. They make up the majority of the South African population. There are ano... read more

Wow thank you for your kind words. See you again soon!
I was really pleasantly surprised to find a Chef’s Table on this side of town. The Vintage has some great eateries, but this concept of restaurant is not easily found outside of the Loop. I was walking by and Galina, whom I had met at another restaurant flagged me down because she recognized me and so I walked in for dessert since I had already eaten lunch earlier. We loved having you!
We just had a great Mother's Day brunch at The Chef's Table in the Vintage. We had the crab cake Benedict which was delicious! The service was excellent and we enjoyed chatting with the chef tableside. We will return for dinner soon!
Great Food - Great Service. From the exceptional crispy onion bahji to the finger bowl provided with the New Zealand Lamb Chops (recommended to be eaten by hand) - there were small touches that nudged my opinion from "very good" to "excellent"
Chef Paul is back! I always loved his dishes at Peli Peli, so I was thrilled to have the opportunity to try his dishes again! We went for lunch at 11am on Saturday. The interior is sleek and the servers are all very attentive and friendly. This is what we ordered: Appetizers: Aji di Pollo Stuffed Portobello Gumbo Entrees: Bahji Burger Portuguese Beef Pendurada with Carrot Bredie Everything was so flavorful and tasted even better than I remembered. I also really liked the watermelon infused water. I have nothing but praise fo... read more

Thank you so much!
From the appetizer to the dessert, the flavors were amazing. Delicious combinations that tickle your tastebuds and please your palette. The decor is a clean, modern-upscale look. But the cuisine takes the show here! Congrats to Chef Paul and Kyle. I forgot to snap a photo of the Sticky Toffee Pudding - it was delicious! Ice cream on a soft cake like brownie, with toffee drizzle. I’m looking forward to returning to try the chocolate mint cheesecake!
Business response:
Thank you Mary for your feed back. I am honored to be here and appreciate your support, can’t wait for you to try the Oreo Cooke crust, peppermint crisp chocolate cheese cake.
