About this business

About The Chef My name is Paul Friedman and I like to think of myself as just an ordinary guy who has had a lifetime love affair with food and the fortune of having owned and operated 58 restaurants in South Africa, Europe and the United States. I grew up in what was known as the Transvaal province of South Africa, they called it the land of the Xhosas, one of the major ethnic tribes in this part of Africa. Together with fellow N'guni peoples, the Zulu. They make up the majority of the South African population. There are ano... read more

I came here tonight with my new bride because she had never been here before or had food with a South African flare. She had the lamb and I had the cape point crossing, which is pretty much what the old Cape Town skillet used to be. We also had calamari and sweet potato fries, and of course, finished off with sticky toffee pudding. Everything was fantastic, and she was thoroughly impressed. We’ll be back!

Wow! Such an exceptional dining experience. Every single ingredient was so intentional. I can truly say I've never enjoyed a meal more than this.

There is a mix feeling about food that was served. Start with appetizers. Portions are large with unique and beautiful tasted types of calamari, I prefer sauteed. Lollipop lamb was heavily cover with dry vegetable seasoning give bitter aftertaste to dry lamb. African sole was totally tasteless not even hint of salt or pepper. Other two was also very mediocre for this level of rest... read more

We came back to The Chef’s Table to celebrate our anniversary. Phoenix, our server, was fantastic! He recommended some great dishes including the TCT Wings and Impala Filet. My wife had the Chicken Pendurada - a fan favorite! Don’t miss the Cucumber Martini and Anura Cabernet. You won’t be disappointed!
