Probably great food and I was excited based on the reviews; however, you need to be a member to eat there and this was not communicated on the phone. Waste of gas and time, communicate these things on the phone for future guests, please.

We've since updated all our social listings so it's a little clearer. You don't actually have to be a Member - just a guest of the resort. We apologize for the inconvenience!
I come to the dune house often when staying in Palmetto Dunes. It's not fancy or 5 star dining but it is one of the best beach bars on the island, hands down. I recommend having drinks and lunch there mid day or a few prime time cocktails just as the sun is setting low. Check your high class attitude at the pool and enjoy the casual beach side atmosphere at the Dunes House.
Stopped by the Dunes House during a beach bike ride with the family. Great beach spot with the kids, and Christina our bartender was super nice. We did the fish tacos and on Christina's recommendation, and the kids got sliders and frozen lemonades. Good mix of people, some golfers, a few dressed up folks, and several beach goers in swim suits like us. We liked that they cooked on several big grills right out on the deck. Food was great and we had a few different beers.
Went back again this year and I was very pleased. My family loves the fish tacos! I wish this place existed in Ohio! Great atmosphere and food
Great tasting blackened triggerfish sandwich is a must have here with a cold Landshark. They'll make it on a wrap too. Ride your bike here and have lunch overlooking the sand dunes.
Thank you, Dunes House, for capping off our great week vacationing in Palmetto Dunes! We will definitely be back to enjoy another beachside meal with great service. The blackened triggerfish sandwich was delicious and the cocktails were refreshing as we relaxed on a hot day under a shady umbrella. Loved it!
We are staying at Marriott and just a short walk to this restaurant. My wife and kids had the Greek Gyro and I had the grilled chicken sandwich-all was very good and fresh! service was excellent. We ate on the deck shaded by the table umbrellas so with the breeze was not too hot and we could enjoy the great view! I highly recommend!
Not at all what we were expecting. Food was subpar and it just didn't live up to the reviews we read. We thought we had the wrong place because of how the reviews made it sound. Live music was a good touch and the view of the ocean was nice but the food wasn't worth it. Definitely don't recommend for dinner. It's more of a lunch place.
the fish tacos are made with a disgusting farm raised fish from Vietnam. they used to use quality fish last year , but have apparently switched to "basa." so steer clear of the tacos. Google "basa" and you will not want to try it, trust me. other than the poor quality fish used on their tacos its a great little bar and the setting is wonderful, as is the service and people. maybe this post will make it clear how it's not ok to use trash fish though.
