Closed in under 30 days at the rate, points and fees first presented. Our questions were answered quickly and clearly. Fees were much lower than other lenders for the same or better rates/points. Had a minor problem with the underwriter in tracing the source of our downpayment funds so I would recommend positioning the funds where you need them prior to applying for the loan - this was not the fault of SunTrust or the team of loan originators - they were clearly on our side on this issue. I chose Tim / SunTrust because of the low rate and good reviews. Though at the beginning there was some concern with dealing with lender via the internet, plus the 3 hour time difference (from Los Angeles). But Tim and his team lived up to the great reviews and we were closed in 30 days! Tim was responsive and communicated well during the whole process. I am very happy with Tim and SunTrust. I found Tim through his great reviews on Zillow. I didn't think he could live up to the hype, but he did!! I used him for a short sale in CA that had very tight timelines, and Tim delivered at the best rate I could find. He is a hard worker and great communicator, and SunTrust rates were excellent. I am recommending him to everyone I know!!

Tim’s got game! It seems odd to wax rhapsodic about one’s mortgage banker, but Tim Sutherland and the Suntrust team he is surrounded by are a class act - professional to the core and human at the same time…even funny. I can’t say enough about my experience with Suntrust. Although I didn't close my loan with Tim, I'm recommending him anyway due to his very detailed and competitive quotes and the quality and promptness of his communication with me. If I'd had more time before settlement or if I'd gotten pre-approved through Tim, I probably would've closed my loan with him, but instead I will keep him on my short list next time I or someone I know is looking for a mortgage.

Tim and his team were awesome. Tim gave me the lowest loan rate among all others. More importantly, their processing speed is very satisfying and help me closed my purchase that would be impossible otherwise. My contract with Seller was extended multiple times, and even the purchase price has been changed at the last minute. Tim's team has prepared my loan package several times without extra charge and always in time. I live in South Carolina and the long distance doesn't affect their processing efficiency.
