We'v been to this restaurant about 10 times over 4 years. This was the worst experience ever. There were so many crying screaming babies that parents didn't react to and it ruined our experience. We couldnt concentrate on our own experience.

Have not eaten here in a few years. Was excited to go back. Unfortunately, it was a totally different experience and not one I will repeat. The food was served warm, the service was fair, and I felt very rushed.

Nedded a convenient place for dinner before a 7:00 concert at Carnegie Hall. Had a 5:15 reservation. Arrived at 5:11 and was told there were no tables because we were early! We were seated at 5:25. There were six of us - we had 2 orders of the 101 layer lasagna, the tuna steak, veal picatta, veal marsala and the ravioli. The ravioli was a hit. The lasagna was seasoned oddly. Both veal dishes were way too salty. The tuna steak looked like a big black blob on the plate. It was cooked rare but it was tough. Nobody ever came and... read more

This most recent visit to Trattoria dell' Arte was a major dissapointment. The food was not very good and the service was terrible. I will not return.

The only good thing I can say about this 400 seat place is it is across the street from Carnegie Hall. Food was terrible and service not much better. The Matre' D was exceptionally friendly but the great table we were given was soon ruined by a table for 6 place directly in from of us. A tourist trap is all it is.

We have ordered two most expensive Brunello ´s wine and it was awfull. The worst ever we had. Also the airconditioning was extremely cold if you had to sit just below it.

Sadly we are done with this restaurant... a favorite from years past and mostly enjoyed at lunch, but we found the choices at dinner to be heavy and the prices to be extreme... even for Manhattan. I would have appreciated being told that my liver and onions had hot pepper flakes enthusiastically added to the dish making it uneatable for my palate. I never would have thought to ask if it would be hot.. who would with this entree. Even the antipasta that I have loved in the past was not a memorable experience. So I say farewel... read more

Because we had dined at Trattoria Dell'Arte in the past, perhaps we had a romantic notion of what the experience might be. However, having spent the last 13 years dining in the city as part-time residents, and enjoying a variety of great restaurants, it's clear to us that Trattoria Dell'Arte is another opportunistic restaurant taking full advantage of the theatre and tourist crowed. It's was disappointing to us to be finished with our meal in fewer than 40 minutes with a bill of over $100 for mediocre bread, re-heated lasagn... read more

The food is decent, the wait staff friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere very nice. But it is simply not worth the outrageous prices they charge.
