I have lived in NYC for 13 years and eat out multiple times a week. This was by far the worst experience of my time in NYC. How bad was it? Well, even though we were at the restaurant for 1.5 hours, one of our guests never received an entrée that she could eat. After taking 20 minutes to deliver the bottle of wine we ordered, I pulled the wait server aside and asked her to pay a bit more attention to our table. Service was terrible, after being early to my reservations; we still had to wait, while other people got seated!!!!! Had to ask the waiter several times to refill my drink!! Awful!! Food was mediocre, taste was blah! And portions way small for the price….wouldn’t recommend this place at allllll!!!
Every year we go to this restaurant and this year I was very disappointed!!! First, we had reservations and it took almost 30 minutes to seat us. When we did get seated we were instructed that they were out of almost everything on the menu, except for a few items. I felt horrible for our waitress since she was the one having to tell everyone, now that you have waited so long to sit down, now let me tell you we don't have anything that you probably will want. I have not been to this resturant in a number of years, and was surprised by the change in menu, prices and quality of food. high pri ces for what they offer, and food came in cold and had to be returned. waiter was pleasant but did not care for the experience.. would not return
Rushed service with attitude. Cramped table.
It was an extremely busy, pre Arlo Guthrie concert, evening....the place was packed...the noise level was extremely high...the supposed "hot" appetizers came cold...the medium well tuna came rare...the server was nice, but overwhelmed...we were looking forward to a good meal but underwhelmed. Should have had the flat bread pizza and salad and called it a night!
Certainly convenient to Carnegie Hall but so very tired and worn out. While our server was very pleasant we all agreed the food was VERY disappointing and we would not go back.
We have had great lunches here during the week. Our mistake was to dine on a Saturday night. We had made reservations in a timely way, but still had a wait. The restaurant was FULL and noisy. The food was average and compared to our past lunches was disappointing. The servers were very busy and seemed to try do their best with a full load of tables. My plan is to go back for a weekday lunch and give them one more try. There are too many great restaurants in NYC to keep going back...
When our party of 4 arrived the manager sat us where everyone lined up to wait and get sitted, we asked for a table change and then were sat at a table for 2 not 4. Again we asked for a table change and were sitted by the kitchen entrance. For this reason along I would never go back there. He was rude and tried to brush us aside. We waited at least 10 minutes before a waiter appeared at our table, even to give us water. There are too many good restaurants in Manhattan that I would never go back.
