The kitchen had run out of 3 of the several choices we had made at 5 PM when the restaurant opened. The "Lobster Pesce de Mer" had no lobster, even though my husband specially inquired. So the manager 15 min later brought us some. The 2 antipasti dishes I most wanted, they did not have- just a lot of beans and common stuff. I changed my order. The Lobster salad had 6 pieces of lobster on top of a mostly lettuce- some avocado mix- not worth $36. The waitress was excellent. The maitre d' informed us that we HAD TO check our co... read more
The ambience is average at best. There are a lot of great Italian restaurants in NY but this is not one of them. Although the service was good, the food definitely lacked. My daughter had a pasta that only the Olive Garden would serve. My wife's tuna was not great either. I had the veal which was the only good thing we ordered.
Other than for its proximity to Carnegie Hall, this restaurant offers little. Clearly a place for tourists, or for those who wish to have a poor meal. Artichoke appetizer was burnt, cold fish salad was tough, and meat lasagna was poorly prepared. This restaurant could never survive on the merits of its food preparation. It needs to remain in a high tourist area where it does not have to depend on a repeat business.
we sat down and proceeded to be ignored and passed around from one uninterested waiter to the next. so we left.
All of the ambiance of a cattle car. Absurd numbers of diners must filter through a single host desk -- host was charming and disarmingly frank about the disorder--his good humor was the saving grace of the arrival experience. Food is decent and staff are efficient. Just far too busy and noisy.
The food was only so so. Don't waste an expensive dining experience at this restaurant. The place was filled with theater goers and tourists. The pizza was good, not great and far too expensive.
The Food Was Not Worth The Price, I Could Tell My Meal Was Reheated However There Deserts Are Great And The Waite Staff Was Awesome, Very Friendly And Attentive.
We actually walked out of the restaurant on Monday night. It took forever for someone to take our beverage order, it took even longer to get the beverages and then when we were placing our food order, we were told there was a problem in the kitchen and they could not make any of their signature veal dishes. We asked the manager to come over- he never came. So we walked out of the restaurant - -found the manager who indicated he had no idea there were any problems! He did nothing to attempt to make us happy that evening. His ... read more
I went to this place because of the general good reviews it has and because I was looking for a great lasagna before leaving the US for a while. Epic fail! I got there, and after we had ordered, the waiter came to us and told us they didn't have lasagna, which happens to be their specialty. They ran out of pasta for the lasagna. How come they don't plan to have extra pasta inventory of one of their main dishes? They didn't even try to make it up. It was a little bit crowded yes, but nothing crazy. Service was a little bit sl... read more
