Bronzino entree contained an excessive amount of bones after I was assured it would be de-boned. Additionally the portion was "skimpy", yet it was one of the most expensive entrees on the menu. Finally, our server never asked how I liked my entree. I've eaten here once before and everything was fine, so I chalk the last experience up to just bad luck.
I put as a special note that it was my folks' birthdays and that we had to leave for a 7pm show. Table wasn't ready when we were. They didn't do anything for the birthdays and the waiter had no idea that we had to dine promptly
Food was bland and tasteless. If you like rubbery frozen shrimp, this is the place for you.
I loved the seafood dish, my husband had the duck. Well that's it, it just comes with a small piece of duck, no veggies, no salad. The duck wasn't that good. I won't be returning.
We have gone to Trattoria Dell'Arte many times over the years. The service and food have been outstanding. During this last visit both left a lot to be desired and were average at best. I hope that the kitchen and service people just had a bad day and that their quality is not going in the wrong direction.
Based on our recent visit this place has gone seriously downhill. The antipasto is still pretty good but all four at my table had really blah entrees, whether pasta, fish, or risotto. Desserts were not too good either. Only the prices were exciting and not in a good way.
I had the scallops on a salad. For $30, I had the smallest little thin scallops on a mundane salad -- for that price?? Small portions and nothing special! Can find a 100 other restaurants in NY to dine, and most of my NY friends don't rec this place because it's too touristy.
Large, venerable Italian restaurant with great location near Carnegie Hall, Central Park south, and upscale hotels. Overtly theatrical greeting from the maitre d', then nothing much happens for a while unless you're a good fella. The waiters are busy, searching the room while taking your order, but the food does arrive hot and on time. The menu is huge, wine list more than adequate, and prices high as expected. The salads were tired, the pasta heavy, and doubt the entree presentation has changed much in 30 years. No foodies ... read more
I have no idea why this place got such a high rating. It is an insanely overpriced restaurant, with both subpar food and serviceDefinitely a tourist trap given the supremely close proximity to Carnegie. I'm almost positive that the broccoli rabe in my pasta dish was from the freezer aisle. Not to mention the annoying waitress who grew increasingly frustrated when my mom and were taking longer than she liked to order. Word to the wise: this place is NOT worth the price or the attitude. Yuck.
