We were very disappointed as we have gone here for years. The waiter seemed anxious to hurry us throughout the evening. We had to flag him down to order drinks. We were barely through our appetizers when they brought us our dinners. The food was mediocre to inedible. The antipastos we had enjoyed in the past were not of the same caliber, the pastas which had always been memorable only fair. A very disappointing dinner.
aside from the sub-par quality & amount of food served as "entrees", our pre-dinner salad was forgotten... the finale for this wretched place was that my husband's decaf coffee wasn't and he was up all night with a caffeine headache that kept reminding us of the awful dinner we had shared
Very good food but the noise level, the weird service, and the location of our table mitigated againt enjoying it. We were near the kitchen and wait staff hit us every time they rushed past, which was frequently. The restaurant apparently wants to squeeze as many people into the place as is humanly possible so they make it very uncomfortable. Being near Carnegie Hall is a real convenience and the place is packed but we will never return.
I will not be returning to Trattoria Dell'Arte. There was absolutely nothing enjoyable about our experience there.
The food here was indifferent to say the least and over priced.
Good but not great food and service. Overpriced given the moderate quality. On the other hand, at least they could accomodate our large party at the last minute on a holiday weekend.
Food is so-so, lighting is terrible - that weird cold but bright hue that fluorescents throw off - and it's very noisy and filled with tourists. It's like Times Square has creeped up to 57th and it took over what used to be a pretty nice restaurant. I don't recommend it unless you're stuck with no other options. Redeye Grill, their sister restaurant next door, is pretty good. I'd rather have a great burger there than a mediocre order of pasta here any day.
Very expensive for what you get. A "personal" pizza is $20+ and a pizza for sharing is $30+.
Too expensive for what was served. Soup had little flavor. Not enough choice on menu.
