We really enjoyed our birthday dinner- lots of vegetarian options. Pricey but delicious; highly recommend!
Enjoyed the antipasto plate of vegetables as a starter. They were nicely prepared - string beans and brussels sprouts with pancetta were our favorites, but all were excellent. They do a lovely preparation of the calves liver. The eggplant with pasta is a different preparation from the usual eggplant parmigiana and was quite nice - not too heavy. Finished an excellent meal with coffee and cappuccino. Very enjoyable and great location near Carnegie Hall and City Center. The bar is also pleasant for a drink before dinner.
We were greeted as if we were family. The food was outstanding. The service was great. I can't wait to go back!
Always a star. Rich and team make this spot a go to all the time. It's my dining room!
I made this reservation based on reviews I had read and it far exceeded my expectations. We started with the fried artichokes for something different and enjoyed them. The burata with prosciutto was a must have. Our entrees included the scallops with truffles, an Italian sea bass, and the veal parmigiana. All were delicious. The favorite part of the meal was the sweet ending... Best cannolli I have ever had! Kudos go out to our waiter Sean. He was very attentive but not overbearing. Would definitely eat here again. I have eaten here a few times and always good food. Great place but when super crowded can get a little loud.
Then Trattoria dell"arte is the place to go. It is directly across from the revered concert arena and is used to the preconcert clientele. The food is ok though contains way too much oil and salt to be considered fine dining.
We lunched mid week. Restaurant was busy but we were seated promptly. Everyone was cheerful & polite. Artsy interior, bright & colorful. We had a 3 vegetable appetizer...excellent. Entrees were veal piccata (good) and vegetarian (veal like) parmigiana (fabulous). Vegetarians and carnivores can co-exist happily here. We will try to have at least one meal here when we are in the city.
The food and service were as always terrific. This is one of my favorite pre and post theatre restaurants.
