Credit Karma says you should be good. You apply and they come back with reasons, some not even valid as to why they declined you. Another mark on your record which shoots your credit score down. I would avoid this option and look for other options that will have a more positive outlook.

Here's my facts and it might help you all with your auto refinance. My first concern was the milegae of my car. I bought a Ford Escape Hybrid with 108,000 miles on it and had to finance it at 14.99% interest through Gateway One. (Anything over 100,000 is difficult to finance. My local credit unions wouldn't even look at it.) I knew the finance chargers were too high and it was a 2008 so before the car went over 7 years old I knew I had to refinance soon. I made about 6 months of payments on the high interest loan and then sa... read more

Completely UNRELIABLE. They want photcopies of Driver Lisc, income stubs, insurance card, list goes on. They then tell you you will receive the contract via FedEx in 48 hours. Didn't happen. Went with NationWide. 5 minutes after submitting online form, loan was approved! Now THAT'S how it should be. Save the headachs andf the scamming and STAY AWAY!!! BTW - Nationwide was a lower monthly payment for same amount. WHY? Because IFS charge over $200 for DOC FEES! JOKE!

My advice is never assume just because Credit Karma is suggesting it means it will happen. I would suggest calling the finance company directly and feeling them out before you apply . If you are on this site than you obviously know what your credit score is. Approach them up front tell them what your current score is and what your circumstances are. If you apply they are going to run your credit and bingo another strike on your credit report. If your on this site you must care enough about your credit to stay well informed. ... read more

Applied, got approved for 2.99% from 5.56%. All I had to do was finalize it. Calculated the 2.99% and noticed that it didn't match the total amount. It was more. If you owe $22,000.... Paying XXX a month.. You will now owe $23,000ish Paying XXX a month. The monthly payment will be lower, but you're paying towards $23,000. Not $22,000... This is not counting the interest. Yes, if your goal is to pay less a month, then this will do. However, you can "shop" around yourself and get the same. Do not bother calling or emailing the... read more

I applied through IFS hoping to lower my Car payment from $611 to $404 per Credit Karma's pre-approval scoring. However, I was only approved to lower my payment to $555.86. Hardly worth the effort to refiance and stretch the payment months. Process through IFS, they will send you an e-mail asking for YOU to call them. Once you call them they will run your information, causing multiple HARD credit Inquierys. It takes a day before they call you back to let you know the result.

The electronic docs came to me with a sense of urgency from day one. The docs were incorrect and the payment higher then originally quoted. Jeff also told me the daily interest was already accruing even though I had not signed anything! The payoff on my car was higher than actual. I called a couple times with no return phone call. I am disappointed that Credit Karma has me in this situation based on their recommendation. My credit score is lower due to hard credit check and I do not have the refinance. I will write a review ... read more

Talked with Jeff, application process took almost 2 weeks before my offer. Several times he said my original loan was only two months old when it's really 10 months. Several emails he sent were in all caps. Just got my credit score to 728 and the best they could do was 8%. Perfect payment history on all my cards and loans at that. I found that State Farm does auto financing and they were able to get me a 4% APR instead compared to the 8% lowest IFS and my original 12% through Westlake.
