LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place. After noticing that our dog went off her food and just didn't seem herself in general, my boyfriend and I took her to her regular vet. After some preliminary inconclusive testing, the vet referred us specifically to Dr. Schelling at VRC for an ultrasound. We were seen immediately. I could not be more pleased with how kindly Dr. Schelling treated us in our consultation, particularly since the results of the ultrasound revealed some very bad news and a serious medical problem for our dog. He p... read more

I work at the Vet Referral Center on the surgical side. As being an employee I can say that all Surgical patients are treated as we would want our own pets treated. All our nurses are there for the pets to make their already uncomfortable stay in the hospital as comfortable as possible. The patients tend to get very spoiled while in the hospital. We all really enjoy helping your 4 legged family members get back to normal as quick as possible. We have some of the best doctors and nurses in the field.

Had to take my dog Buddy here after he developed an eye problem. He had a scratched Cornea/Ulcer that became severely infected. I cannot say enough about Dr. Beale, their resident Ophthalmologist. She was wonderful, it was very obvious she took a great interest in healing my guy. She took the time to describe to me what was going on, how she was going to attack the infection and aftercare he needed. Dr Beale was very professional, extremely knowledable, very upbeat and simply a joy to deal with. Also the Technician assista... read more

The Veterinary Referral Center is a pet emergency room and surgery center. Our vet sent us here to get an ultrasound done on our cat. We had to wait a bit, even though we had an appointment. Considering that this is also an emergency room, I understand. There were some pretty sick animals there, so the waiting room can be a bit depressing. However, the staff is friendly. Dr. Schelling, the Radiologist, was very nice. He answered all of our questions and seemed to be very knowledgeable. He clearly explained what cou... read more

This review is regarding Austin Moran O'Connell and Brianna Malpractice McKenna that nearly killed my cat. Cat with known heart condition actually treated at VRC's cardiologist, intentionally and willfully neglected and misdiagnosed him after holding him in their pathetic useless ER for over 6 hours, then gave him a medicine equivalent to a TUMS claiming he must have an upset stomach. The fat cow pushing him out in his carrier took her lazy time getting him discharged but had there been a donut waiting for her, it would h... read more

I do not write many reviews - only for exceptional service or terrible. Our recent experience at VRC Emergency Malvern was terrible. When we took our dog to their emergency department (at our primary vet's suggestion) last week, our dog walked in, alert and interested in the other animals there. A few hours later they called and told us to euthanize. I was taken aback but said we would bring him home for that, if necessary, then was told they would treat him overnight. That evening they were "cautiously optimistic." Th... read more

Totally missed diagnosis of ruptured spleen in dog. Arrived around 10 pm on a Sat night with suddenly collapsed dog who had abnormal breathing. He recovered somewhat there. They found painful belly and slight anemia. Took no xrays or ultrasound probably because of time of night. No radiologist despite being 24/7 emergency clinic? Why would anyone ever need xrays or ultrasound at an emergency clinic? Dog sent home at midnight with shot of opiod and NO MENTION of possible spleen rupture or need for radiology follow up. ... read more

Please read initial review. A formal request has been resubmitted to VRC after a review of chart notes which remains unanswered. I'm only writing this to benefit those who unknowingly bring their animals to you for care.

Business response:

Please accept our condolences of Phoebe. While we understand loss can be tremendous- multiple members of our doctor and leadership team have spoken with your family to resolve your questions. We wish you and your family the best at this difficult time.
