Get directionsThey're all about the money! You go in for a specific reason. They take your pet in the back, you have no idea what's happening for at least one and a half to two hours. Then they come out and tell you they need to run numerous tests, of course. You wait hours more. They are rough with your pet and do not show compassion. Your pet comes out worse than they went in. This was our experience.

We lost our 2-year-old Frenchie under the care of VRC. Please think twice before trusting their ER, neurology, surgery service, or hospital administration. After bringing her to the ER, they pushed a wave of diagnostic & surgical procedures without fully assessing her chances of recovery. This led to complications, a ~$7k bill, and ultimately their recommendation for euthanasia. Reviewing her chart only raised more concerns--many of which they refused to address. There are other options. We deeply regret not going to Metro... read more

Please accept our condolences of Phoebe. While we understand loss can be tremendous- multiple members of our doctor and leadership team have spoken with your family to resolve your questions. We wish you and your family the best at this difficult time.
We saw an oncologist there for a problem with our dog which we already knew she would need surgery. The oncologist told us she would have a surgeon call us and tell us when they could do the surgery. After talking with the surgeon for less then 5 minutes, we then received a call back from the office asking us to pay $235 for a "phone consult". We already knew our dog needed surgery, and the original oncologist never told us we would get charged a "phone consult fee". So they wanted us to pay 235 for the visit (which we p... read more

Your feedback is important to us. We have reviewed this case with you, and you did receive a consult from our doctor, which included an extensive look at your pets' medical records and creation of treatment options. This is my second time at this hospital. I swore I'd never set foot in this place again! When I was told this was the only place yesterday that would do my dogs ultrasound I really felt sick to my stomach that I had to go back here. The place was so busy. I walked my very sick dog in, instead of asking for a stretcher. I said I wasn't coming through the ER I was there specifically just to have a ultrasound and would be returning to our vet. Our vet only has the technician on Wednesdays and it was imperative to have this ult... read more
Went there with a critically injured puppy. They would not answer the door, even though their lights were on. We could see a woman inside. Went to a different door. Nurse said there was no doctor! She told us to go to a different hospital 15 minutes away. The puppy died en route to the 2nd hospital.
Had Dr. Capelle placed Charlie in a neutral (non-injurious) respite position before being repositioned for continuing surgery every 10 minutes, her incidence of getting peripheral nerve injury and compartment syndrome would be less likely. Due to Dr. Capelle's poor clinical judgment for not placing Charlie in position that prevented her from getting peripheral nerve injury along with not treating Charlie aspiration pneumonia properly, it led and contributed to her demise.Even though Dr. Capelle witnessed the incidence of Ch... read more

Your concerns are noted, thank you for reaching out.
Been using VRC periodically for the past 14 years for our dog. He has had several urologic surgeries there with no problem but the business has gone down in my opinion. They never seem to have enough doctors on hand to see patients in the ER and you sit and wait hours upon hours for someone to look at your dog or pet. They are extremely horrible at communicating that there is a wait. It was never this bad. The past there times we had to bring our dog here have been the worst ever. We arrived at 8:30pm and there was absolutel... read more

Jennifer, We are truly sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your recent experience. We understand that waiting can be frustrating, especially when you feel the hospital is not very busy. However, in an emergency room setting, we prioritize care based on the severity of each patient's condition. This means that if other patients are in more critical or unstable conditions, they will be seen first to ensure they receive the urgent care they need. We value both you and your pet, and we strive to provide the best care poss... read more
Our regular vet recommended we see a neurologist at VRC. The visit was fine. Everyone was friendly and professional. It was an issue I experienced afterwards that is so unforgiveable. Our appointment was 12:00 noon on Thursday, 3.28.24. After we arrived back home, I realized I forgot to ask for an "Office Visit Summary". I called VRC, and they said it wasn't completed yet. I asked if I would have it by the end of the day, and they said I should get it by then. I didn't. I understand people get busy, so I assumed it would be... read more
To be fair, I left a 5 star review years ago, when it was warranted. I'm not one of those ppl to just write negative reviews... I think really great experiences deserve reviews just the same. That being said, Dr. B is retired and no longer at VRC. This current 1 star review is for the horribly traumatic experience I had this past Friday evening at VRC with staff and with Dr. Paul J. McGough. My beloved 18 yr old 2 lb maltese was diagnosed with lots of tiny, inoperable liver shunts by Dr. Shelling (radiologist) when she was... read more
