If you have a dog in the Bay Area and need to board them, DO NOT USE Wag Hotels - San Francisco. We have used them several times and have run into some issues but it's mostly been good. This time, however, was beyond horrid. We reserved and GOT A CONFIRMATION for our dog's 2-day stay this week back on AUGUST 5 (that's 3 and a half months beforehand). We got an email from the hotel LAST MONDAY (a week before the busiest travel time of the year) that they had double booked and the room we had confirmed 3 MONTHS BEFORE was now ... read more
[UPDATED REVIEW DUE TO WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR DOG IN MAY 2023] We entrusted Wag Hotel to care for our beloved dog, Mocha, during her stay, but the experience was nothing short of heartbreaking and disappointing. When we came to pick her up, a worker carried her out to us instead of her usual enthusiastic dash on a leash. At first, we didn't think much of it--until we got into the car. The moment we placed Mocha on my lap, she shrieked in pain. Concerned, we immediately went back inside to notify the staff. Their reaction w... read more
I wanted to love this place but I felt I couldn't. I read good reviews so I was convinced. I left my dog here and then found out about a lawsuit they're in for animal abuse and neglect. I said F that, I picked my dog right back up about 3 hours later. When I picked up my dog he was wet and smelled very strongly of pee. My dog does NOT pee himself, he is very clean. I thought to myself if he was here for 3 hours and smelled strongly of urine, wet, imagine if I would've left him here for his entire stay? F that. I found someon... read more
The front desk staff that I worked with was wonderful. They were gyms. My dog never had any problems in the all-day play. You know lots of pictures. He had a good time. Now let's talk about management Do not send your dog here. My dog had been going and being groomed and apparently bit the groomer one time. This happened in June. I didn't find out until August this had happened. I also didn't find out that there was a report and there are points or whatever they're called on my dog. It took them 2 and 1/2 months to let me k... read more
We are so so glad that we took the tour before boarding here. The tour guy definitely has his sales pitch down. The receptionist warned our pets would not be allowed to have any potty breaks after 6pm until 8am the next day and stated "we don't have potty break or walk options, the dogs pee and poop in their kennels and we clean it up in the morning" what?! Nasty! There are no cameras for the large dog play yard. Their non luxury kennels that we toured through were in a dungeon type setting, walls coming down, spider webs... read more
We left our Vizsla there for 4.5 days . Picked him up today. Cuts and deep scratches all over his body. One still slightly bleeding. Never again.
We just left our dog at the wag hotel of half of a day. After playtime, they put her in a room alone and she clearly had an episode of some kind. When we picked her up she had been washed off and was all wet because they found her in a corner drooling (At least that's what they said, it looked like she had thrown up). We were not called when our dog was not doing well. To be honest I believe they hardly checked on her in her room at all. She was hardly herself and looked like she had been drugged. We took her to the ER and s... read more
I payed for one night for my bod to be boarded and a grooming and nail trim. My dog came home Mangy, With fleas, and the reception and abrupt and so rude. Don't trust your animals here. This place looks nice from the from but who knows what's going on in the back. No!
Hey Eryn, Ok first off its Joe, not Jason. Splitzy was just the problem after the problem. When I brought my last dog there he came home with Kennel cough and he was elderly. So thats all bad. If you really wanna know how to improve, its simple. From business owner to business owner, literally all you havta do is hire more attentive and detail driven employees. If you havta pay more for quality people, do it. Cause all the horrible reviews are killing your business. Just hire better people. Its an investment in your business... read more
