We had a contract price locked in with our Home contractor (Construction Loan) that expired at the end of April. Our loan closed 2 weeks later, and that extra 2 weeks cost us $15,000 out of pocket! I still think the rate was higher than it could have been,I would have paid more $ to get a little better rate. The corporate Caliber kept sending me rates lower with the full points amount that contradicted what the local office was doing so it was confusing. Also the corporate office seems very disorganized from the phone calls I had with them. Responsiveness was the biggest issue. Both my brother and I were frustrated from time to time waiting on replies to our questions. Also, maybe because it was a VA loan there was more to do, but the process wasn't easy at all.
