I thought long and hard before I wrote this and I am only doing this because I feel I would be a negligent Pet Owner if I did not warn fellow Pet Owners about Yorkville Animal Hospital. I have been a customer for nearly 13 years and honestly Shame on Me. It was close to our home so it was just convience. I hate to do this, because I know it's difficult to profit in this industry, so I'll do my best to give credit where credit is due. Sadly, we had to take our dog to be euthanized here the other day. As far as the care provided by the vet, the service and compassion was exceptional. The staff seems to genuinely care about animals and their families. I was very happy with this animal hospital up until the last two times I had to go in and pick up my elderly dogs heart medication. First they raised the price from 20.00 to 32.00. I wasn't happy but my baby needs it for his heart. well today when I went in to pick up his monthly medication not only was the price 32.00 but they also wouldn't cut his meds up into the proper dosage for me anymore. This place is disgusting and absolutely a disgrace. My cat Rossy was taken in on Saturday the 2nd of September for a UTO. When we brought him in to the doctor, she praised us and said we brought him in early enough and that we were good parents. She immediately got him in to surgery and said it was a success and that we could see him the next day. When we went in on Sunday, he was his normal self and loving on me and my wife. I used to take my Boston terrier to them all the time. I took him in one time to get groomed, and they called me to tell me he was aggressive and won't keep a muzzle on, and had to be sedated, which I thought was odd. My dog was never aggressive before that and he always loved people. So we never went back for grooming and he did perfectly fine at other groomers. Who knows how they treated my poor dog. I've been using YAH for approximately a year after moving here from Montana. I've used them for vet care, boarding and basic grooming. I was hesitant to board my K9 at their location based off reviews online and Claire stories. That being said, I have it a go as the location is very convenient for us. I want to preface this with saying this was the Yorkville location, yet all pet owners need to know this... After coming here with my two bulldogs for over 6 years, the attitude and service has been in steady decline and the prices have just gone up and up and up. The worst part is their front desk staff who are completely nuts. I brought my dog here for a wellness exam, boarding, and nail trim. He was to be boarded 10 days which was cut short. I was calling to check in on my dog while he was boarded and received no answer each time I called. I left messages informing the office I wanted to check in on my dog and received no follow up responses. I would give them 0 if I could. I had a c-section scheduled for my corgi, we came in met the vet and everything was going great.....until delivery day. They switch they vet out. This vet did NOT have any business performing a c-section. They kept mom from me for 6hrs! I've never had a bitch held that long, with no explanation.
