Very disappointed! My family and I have been using Yorkville Animal Hospital for years. The last few times I have come the vets I have seen left me less confident than normal. This past weekend's experience was the last straw. The vet who treated my new puppy was horrible. She did nothing to examine him, told me to twist the hairs in his inner ears and pull them out, took him in the back to treat infected ears and kicked me out of the exam room, and the charged a premium because it was a Sunday! We took our cat in because she had been sneezing alot, also thought she had a respiratory infection, they told us she was very sick and we should consider putting her down, didn't even wanna try antibiotics for her infection. So my husband left. We were not comfortable with what they told us. So we decided to get a 2nd opinion, she went to Randall Orchard Animal Hospital, they gave her antibiotics and steroids and cream for her eye, also told us she had a good heart beat, seemed healthy otherwise. Look, you might have a good experience there, they might do things right for you... Most of them are wonderful people, it's a great clean location, and we've had decent care from them before. And I know bad things just happen sometimes.. But I've been unable to get over what happened to me the last time, and I have to vent it somewhere that might be a warning to others... Just be careful. My last experience here was awful. I have taken my rabbit here in the past and the visits were adequate. They considered rabbits to be an "exotic animal" and required an appointment to have a specialized vet check the animal out. However, my last visit for some reason did not require this. I called twice to ask about neutering and each time was it was handled casually, no need for an appointment, just drop off between 6:30-9 am and a vet could neuter my rabbit. I never leave any negative review on Yelp or anywhere else. But, sometimes it is necessary to let other people know, so that they will not experience it. This hospital was good to us for our regular check up, until we took our dog for neutered and boarding on August 2018. We took our six months old puppy for neutered and boarding for almost a week with them. When my dog came back, he had very bad diarrhea (still do & it's almost two weeks as of the time of my review/now). He also developed a skin issue around his neck. My h... read more

OK. So my initial impressions of this place were good but that has changed based on my last interaction. Please know that I am fair and will not leave a bad review unless it is well justified and I feel like I have been wronged. So...My 6 month old puppy went in for a neuter a few days ago (and stayed in boarding for 6 days). Upon picking him up I noticed some "petroleum jelly" like stuff on his neck but somehow in my mind I chocked it up to his surgery. Very disappointed with service. Neglected our dog and after his stay for surgery, he came home with kennel cough. Addressed with Mr long and was told, " there tired of the complaints about there business, take my business somewhere else". Take your animals to another Vet

Would give this place 0 stars if I could. I took my puppy here only because I bought him from Petland & Yorkville Animal Hospital was on the list of places for a "free" first vet visit. First of all, the first visit wasn't free since I had to pay for the deworming medicine. In addition, my puppy started getting sick after he received his shots. Horrible experience. Pet was not taken care of properly during an emergency visit. We had to take to our vet on Monday to find out she needed surgery and it was not taken care of properly at this facility. When we contacted them they were rude and outright mean.
