It was a nice place but it changed used to take all my dogs here, but where do I begin there a bunch of thieves for one I took my dog to get a procedure done and they did another procedure that I told not to do and I still had to pay for it. Upon complaining about it I was told not to come back again which is fine I wasn't planning on it anyways about six months prior they misdiagnosed my wife's cat and the poor thing ended up dying because of their lack of knowledge. Totally do not recommend this place they're all a bunch... read more

If I could leave zero stars, I certainly would. It's taken me some time to write this review as we've been trying to get a hold of the Practice Manager since the end of September (she's the main owner's wife, Vanessa Long). After almost two months of trying, we finally received a call back from Dr. Oedewaldt, who seems to be the only one at Yorkville Animal hospital that cares about their business (or people) in general, but I will get to that. I took my Boxer in at the end of September. She was not doing well at all (histo... read more

We took our two small dogs here to be spayed on Saturday October 9th. We do a small amount of rescue work and make sure to spay and neuter all the dogs before finding homes for them. We use the Friends of Animals spay/neuter voucher to cut down the cost. These dogs were up to date on all vaccines but required a current fecal. Upon pickup we were charged $170 for "catheter placement". I've used this voucher numerous times and am always charged some random fee. Once it was a "biohazard fee". I was never told about this additi... read more

Clean facility and overall friendly staff. We have been going here for 7 years and haven't had a problem until now. However, if you suspect there is something wrong with your pet, I would recommend taking them somewhere else. My dog had a routine blood test and they found that she had high calcium numbers (this usually indicates either a hyper-active thyroid OR a tumor on their thyroid/ parathyroid). We got a call from Dr. Long and he told us her numbers were off and that she could have either of these two problems. He then ... read more

We boarded our Dog for 10 days with Yorkville Animal Hospital. We dropped off a Healthy and Happy Dog. We booked the Executive Package and scheduled him for a Teeth Cleaning and Shot Update. They talked us into the nail clipping and smoothing. All said and done the Bill was over $1,000. When we went to pick up our Dog we were shocked. He could barely walk on his back legs and had a fever and was shaking. His right rear paw was swollen to double its normal size and he had sores and lesions over both rear paws. None of ... read more

Please read the reviews on this place. I had such a hard time getting an appointment. I had questions and Mary didn't appreciate having to answer them. I was finally able to get the appointment, but had more questions. Mary promptly hung up on me. When I tried to call back three times, I'm sure my number came up and my call was ignored. I then used a different phone and it was taken. Hmm, if your front desk is like this, how is the rest of your practice? Not a good experience and I won't be taking my pets here. Read t... read more

Based on a recommendation I booked a grooming appointment at YAH. When I scheduled the appointment I asked what vaccines, etc. were needed to avoid any surprises. In March my dog had a vet exam and various vaccines at his usual vet. I was told twice by YAH, once when I booked the appointment and again when they called the day before my scheduled appointment, that my dog required a fecal test and bordetella vaccine and the associated cost. That's it. When I arrived at the facility it took quite awhile, 15 minutes, to get ... read more

Typically a big fan of this vet. I've been bringing my dog for over 2 years since I adopted him. However I am extremely disappointed in what I'm seeing today. They are making you remove your dog's collars and leashes and wrapping a rope around there neck to take them in. This is very harmful for animals and your pet can easily get lost with out there collar. Some of this girls can't even handle the dogs and are being pulled through the parking lot and the dogs are choking. This is very unsafe for the dogs and other dogs they... read more

Mistakes and Unpredictable Things happen..... how I was treated; that was a CHOICE. I do not recommend this place at all as an animal advocate and educator. Read the whole thing before you get protective please...I'm not going to be further commenting on this thread. I just want to share my experience. The sparks produced from the laser used to neuter my sugar glider interacted with the oxygen.... He had a FIREBALL shot at up his stomach that wrapped around his head as evidenced by his injuries. He is lucky to be alive; h... read more
