I am a sales professional in the P&C insurance industry. Often times I use the 8X8 text message feature to supplement my primary form of contact (calling and leaving voicemails). I know that a certain percentage of people prefer texting and won't answer their phones. This has enabled me to close many deals or to at least start conversations with folks who I would have otherwise never spoken with.
What I love most about the 8x8 service is the caller ID feature on my desktop and the instant messaging feature. Instead of yelling across the office or bothering someone while they are on the phone with a customer, we can still communicate through instant messaging. It allows us to only answer calls pertaining to our files and helps our work more efficiently.
