I am a solid Acura fan. I just traded in my 2005 MDX with almost 325k mi on it. My experience purchasing the 2017 MDX was poor in multiple areas. In this tight market, when I saw the vehicle I wanted I rushed in on a Sat eve. Jorge Gomez was the sales associate. I told him I always get an independent mechanic to look it over. I was willing to pay full price for a pre-owned car listed online, but the dealership REFUSED to sell me the car for the advertised price. The only way they would sell would be if I paid an additional $1495 "reconditioning fee" as well as a $349 "ZakTek protection fee", both of which are bogus add-on fees and were not part of the advertised price. As we found out with ABC Nissan, this is FALSE ADVERTISING and I will be submitting a complaint to the AZ Attorney General immediately.
DO NOT buy a car from Victor, Luis, or Colby. They are dishonest & will do anything they can to make the sale. They will ghost you and say "it was my day off". Really?? & They still didn't call back when they were in office. Victor, Luis, & Colby BOTH told me they had an AWD. Well they all lied and tired to sell me a FWD WITHOUT TELLING ME. In November I tried to buy a 2017 Acura NSX from this dealer. Turns out the car has belong to the sales manager, however they were not able to sell it due to a recall issue the car had. They never reached back out to us or even communicated on what's going on. We ended up flying to Seattle and buying one from them instead it was also much cheaper with less miles. On day 1, I walked out of the dealership as I was not happy with the numbers on MDX, which is perfectly fine. But on day 2 (Dec 31), I got a couple of calls from their GM and sales representative stating that they can go lower on the numbers and asked me come to the dealership. Worked with Chis by phone and his associate Lewis Who were fantastic. Price of the used vehicle on their site was clearly listed at $29,500 but when I went in to buy, the final paperwork reflected a new price. This new price included an up charge for vehicle prep of over $1500. Clearly a form of bait and switch in my book and poor business tactic. I walked.
Frustrated that I leased a vehicle with the luxury plus service plan, so I could prevent any headaches future wise. I have tried calling the parts department last week about 4 times. Tried calling today on a Monday each hour and no answer. Have not heard one real voice of please hold, just a transfer to a busy signal. Finally got a recording saying they are open 7-4est and to leave a message. So now you close at 1pm on a Monday afternoon? For an Acura dealership you would think you would want to sell some parts. It will help others understand the buying process and the good and bad. Perhaps we all can learn and change from this experience. Again buyer beware. If you finance, only finance the car not any extras you purchase. Have a separate bill of sale for the car purchase.
