Over the past year ACS Internet has been slow and unreliable. They don't have plans of putting high speed service in our area (UMED) but are charging near their high speed rate. I am posting this through my GCI smartphone because I can't even pull up Facebook using ACS Internet connection....

I'd love to sign up for the "Unlimited Internet and Free Tablet" but ACS Refuses to provide internet service to those of us in the Juniper/Luther's Loop area off Chena Hot Springs Road.

Internet is decent most of the time. But when something goes wrong after work you are screwed because there is no after hour help

Been an ACS/Alaska Communications customer for over a decade, but the last few years have been agonizing. I've been calling occasionally for at least three years, asking when speeds greater than 10 Mbps will be available and am always fed the same response, "Our engineers are constantly working to expand our fiber network. Faster speeds should be available shortly." Lack of bandwidth caps can only take a company so far. The truth is that ACS no longer meets my needs. I own a PS4 and an Xbox, and a 4K HDR TV. I am not even a customer yet and I have to wait over a month for installation. Customer service said it is because of the Hulu Promotion... I can drive to the competition and get Internet tonight!

I have been living in my current residence for three and half years now and have watched the higher speed connections pushed out to various areas of Fairbanks, but nothing in the area I live in. If you contact customer service no one can give you an answer about if/when it may change. You just get fed a line to placate you by customer service such as "The engineers don't tell us anything but we'll put you on our waiting list to be informed when things change." ACS $79.99 offer is a customer catch bait... I'm in Juneau and I call yesterday to get internet service and got told "that unfortunately there's no service in my location"... yet I put an order online so I could get a second response... Today I was called and the rep said the same thing but that this issue is caused to shortage in equipment... the rep said that I was going "to be placed on a waiting list until someone drop service and the equipment becomes available"...
