We had visited Alexander's under the previous ownership and that experience was much better. A few lo-lights of our evening: The air conditioning wasn't working (or working well), which forced them to have several indoor plug-in units in the dining room and foyer. When we asked our server, he said, "oh no, the A/C is on." If there is an issue, simply own up to it and at least it doesn't leave the guests wondering why a man that is sweating at his tables would think to say that. Food is ok, but not what it once was. This was the first of many seatings here and the food was not good! Every other time it has been good..very disappointing.. the service was excellent ...the prices are way too high especially when one cannot eat why we ordered!

Decent food mediocre service server never asked if we wanted another drink more water food came out in 3 minutes didn’t even get a chance to settle in it was like get us in and out as quickly as possible

Food was good, but not great. Definitely feel this restaurant is very much over-priced. We had a waiter tonight who absolutely had the personality of a 2x4. Shame-on the manager for hiring someone with zero personality to represent this establishment. Also, we had a reservation for 8pm and we didn’t have a cocktail in-hand until 8:35pm. You lost my business tonight...sorry...but there are so many other top-notch restaurants on HHI.
What used to be a main stay in Hilton Head has reversed course with this meal. Nothing good to say but the wine was good. Hopefully only a blip in a long rich history.
My husband, 3 children and I ate at Alexander’s tonight and had a very disappointing meal. Vacations are so precious and having an unpleasant $200 + meal here tonight is so disappointing. Our waiter, Brandon, was rude and unhelpful. Our food arrived cold, our glasses were left empty until I asked a busboy to send our waiter over... and then it still took 15 minutes for me to get a second glass of a $16 of Chardonnay.
