Ordered wine appetizers and entrees. Wine came out but after 50 minutes the entrees arrived. They forgot the appetizers. The waiter didn’t seem upset. Spoke to another couple as we were leaving and they also had a bad experience.
This was our first dining experience in Hilton and they sat us in a corner not at a window seat, the service was slow and the food was just ok. I wouldn’t recommend this place or go back. Let’s put it this way- it didn’t exactly set the stage for HH to be a big foodie scene in our minds.

Food cold and SERVICE was TERRIBLE and it was at one time a great place to eat but not anymore!

We have been going to Alexander’s during our twice per year visits to HHI for the past 12 years. The restaurant has an incredible ambiance, particularly if you are seated in the lower room overlooking the lagoon. However, the service and food has gone downhill to the point where we are considering removing it from one of our go-to places. Very slow service. Main meal arrived only after the waiter realized we’d been waiting nearly half-hour between courses. Bus boy cleared table of utensils, etc. thinking we were done. The waiter breezed by shortly there after, mumbling “let’s see what’s going on here” and strutted off toward the kitchen. Service was extremely slow. Management was there to pour our water but more interested in chatting with ‘friends’ than paying attention to our ignored table. My lobster tail dinner was unremarkable and vegetables were cold. I should have sent it back but to wait for a replacement would have been who knows how long. This is the second year of being disappointed. Understaffed?

Food was good but service was disappointing. We were celebrating a special occasion (which we reminded our waitress and hostess of) and this was never acknowledged. Also our waitress was rude. When asking about the catch of the day her reply was a very rude, “I just went over that.” Don’t ask for clarification of daily special vs. catch of the day or you will be made to feel stupid. Maybe we just had the worst waitress in the restaurant who hates her job.

Mediocre at best. No vegetarian options besides an overpriced salad the size of a side salad. Grits were underdone and shrimp were previously frozen and tasted like such. Surf and turf was outrageously priced, and filet was smothered in a burgundy wine sauce. That’s not necessary for a well cooked filet. Lobster tail was tender and good, but the drawn butter was unsalted and tasted like movie theater popcorn oil. It’s $200 (for 4) I wish I had back for sure!
