Highly over rated and overly expensive for the food quality. Our seafood was way overdone and the food didn’t taste the greatest in general.

Very disappointed in our visit to Alexander’s. Food was marginal at best. Filet over cooked, the lobster was like gum. Very chewy. While I understand a request for a lagoon view isn’t always an option but after requesting the view for a birthday celebration was declined (which I made 3 days prior) we were seated basically in the doorway. Alexander’s was a disappointment. The restaurant itself is tired. The highlight was the service. Things started out badly when I returned my cocktail for being far too sweet (something I have never done before) although I was pleased to see it was taken off the bill. The Oysters Alexander and oysters on half shell were very good but unfortunately both my husband and my mains were disappointing: Scallops in his dish were overcooked as were the shrimp and scallops in my pasta dish and the broth for the pasta was unpleasant.

To say we’re very underwhelmed would be a stretch. We have been visiting HHI for 14 years and always make reservations at Alexander’s as it WAS a favorite of ours. Not anymore. Let me start with the service. Our waitress was great....very personable, knowledgeable, and professional. She recommended the calamari and it was very good. Service was atrocious. Didn’t get drinks until 35 after sitting down. Appetizers were ok. 4 out of 6 people in our party thought their entrees were bad. Management did the right thing and comped us in a few items but that doesn’t change how bad our experience was.

Arrived Saturday Night (4/24/2021) at 745 for a 745 dinner reservation due to heavy rains and traffic. Seated promptly at last table on porch and waited 10 minutes for Server Carolyn to bring us water (after walking by us 10 times). Asked for Merlot by glass - Merlot is not served by the glass (Restaurant and Wine Bar). Was told I could buy a bottle and take home what I did not finish. 2nd Choice Cabernet by the glass. This our fourth visit to this restaurant in four weeks. A special night to have dinner with our daughter for the first time in more than a year was destroyed by the manager. When we inquired to the waiter about the delivery of the main course after a 45 minute wait, he sent over the manager. Rather than explain that there was a problem with our order (which there clearly was), he was flip and rude. We left without eating.
