We have been to Alexander’s many times and have always had a good experience. Never inexpensive but always enjoyable. This last time though the service was poor. After our waiter took our order we never saw him again until the check came, the mussels recipe has changed from a lovely broth to what tasted like jar tomato sauce with a few capers tossed in. Our lady server went MIA after she took our order. Someone else delivered our food to us. I had to get up and get my own ground pepper (no one offered, wanted another glass of brut rosè, she never came back, waited forever to have our water refilled.

The food was excellent but the service was disappointing. As one of the more upscale restaurants in the area, which prides itself with a dress code, our waitress was very casual / unprofessional.

The experience was not worth the price of the meals. Did not see a sign stating gentlemen should remove their hats. The manger very rudely came to tell me to remove my hat stating there was a sign. Never saw one! I would suggest they put one right when you enter not in tiny print by the menu out in the parking lot!!
