I loved the ease of this plan, however, the rates went up so high on my yearly renewal that had to call to cancel my policy. I am newly retired and just cannot afford such a large increase. When I called I could NOT just cancel my policy without the hassle of negotiating over and over only to be transferred to someone else that started negotiating AGAIN. Ok I have to admit that the negotiation ended up cheaper than what I was already paying, so of course I accepted. Lo and behold the first payment was not the negotiated pric... read more
Quick response to work orders. Reasonable pricing
As a long term American Home Shield customer (34+ years), I'm familiar with the service request, dispatch, and repair process. On my most recent service request, I had to place multiple follow up calls to get the estimate; the service provider stated the estimate would come from AHS, when I called AHS, they said the service provider would send it - the typical ping-pong runaround game. After receiving, approving, and having the work completed, I was not given an invoice, only an unsigned service invoice #143140 which noted E... read more
Great coverage but customer service agents never have updated information readily available to them unless they are specifically looking at information related to the work order number of your service request. Escalating an issue is never timely and often times those representatives don't get back to you to assist with an issue or call you back if you miss their initial call back to you. Contractor relations is also an area that you cannot speak to personally and can only rely on the customer service agent sending them an em... read more
Everything was great except for how much time it took to get our refrigerator back in service (3wks).
Thus far AHS has successfully fulfilled their contract agreement during service claims I’ve had to make. Their continued commitment to doing so in the future is what I fully expect.
I have had to use my American Home Shield a few times this year. There are always on top of things. I am very pleased with their service and I would recommend them to anyone.
American Home Shield is a great company as long as you have an issue that does not need immediate attention. I’ve had this company for over 10 years and for electrical outlets, faucets with a slow leak, dryer noise and things like that, they are fine. When the AC goes out during a hot week or the furnace dies on Thanksgiving, prepare to wait for a week or longer or spend hours on the phone arguing with customer service and pleading your case.
It's on the verge of being too expensive. Not only do you have a monthly fee, you have to pay for the contractor visit.
American Home Shield has a 4.8 star rating with 91,169 reviews.
