The experience worked out really well. Beacon Appliance was great and the service from American Home Shield was very good. In the past, I've had a lot of difficulties. To talk to anybody on the phone, you have to wait 45, 50 minutes. The last two phone calls I made, I got through in eight minutes. I've not had any problems with American Home Shield other than every year, you pay more for the service call. Once in a while, you'll get a vendor that's not as prepared to do the job. But most of the time, if I've had 10 claims, eight times, I'm very satisfied. That's a pretty good record. Recently, the transformer burnt out on the air handler which was a symptom of the problem. American Home Shield sent Valley Pro Appliance Repair for my clothes washer. The tech repaired it. He was perfect. He was very professional, on-time and did a great job. I'm very satisfied using American Home Shield and I’ve already recommended them to several friends.
I had a leak issue with my garbage disposal. I went online and followed the prompt. I put in the issue and then I received a call back within 24 hours with the name of the company. The American Home Shield agent said that that the person was supposed to arrive between 8:00 and 10:00 the following day. The service made by Joy Plumbing was great. It was quick and easy. The guy from Beaches Air was wonderful. He had a mask on and he never came in the house. He fixed everything up in half hour or 45 minutes. We were very pleased. This is our first call with American Home Shield, and we were tickled. We called early on a Sunday morning and the guy was here by noon. So it was like a four-hour turnaround.
There was some water dripping from a pipe in the hot water tank. I submitted a claim with AHS online and Dimitresse Construction came out. Then, I had a toilet leaking and the same company came out. The tech needed to put a wax ring in. The guy was nice and friendly.
Draingo came out and installed the water heater. They removed the old, put in the new and charged me X amount of dollars for them to do their work. Our interaction was fine. They even cleaned up after they were done. When I file claims to American Home Shield, it's usually through a phone call. They're pretty prompt in making sure that the customer is taken care of. GE came out two times, and then another one came out. This is my third claim with American Home Shield. It's always been the same thing. The freezer's not getting cold enough. It's like 25 degrees and the refrigerator was supposed to be at least 40, and we're looking at 55 degrees. What it's doing is it is freezing up behind the wall and not thawing out properly. They changed the water heater five months ago and the breaker was tripping. And every time I turned on the breaker, in about 15 minutes it tripped, and it was bad. I alerted Home Shield through the internet. The website was good and easy to handle. Bill Richards Electric's tech came and changed the breaker. Their service was very good.
