It's going on two years now that we've had American Home Shield and it's been positive. I find their response time well and the dispute resolution is good as well. They are open to having a conversation and talking through different options. We are happy with the service so far. They sent out Discount Contractors for a plumbing issue. It seems like the leak is with the flange. The tech was unable to fix the toilet because of a pre-existing issue. Right now, we are not using the toilet. Discount Contractors came out for three... read more

It's been great with American Home Shield so far. They get right with us and they get someone out. We used them for the AC unit and we had a good idea as to what was going wrong but the company that came out didn't wanna go look at what we knew was going wrong. I understand COVID stuff and they didn't wanna go in the house. But they gotta go in the attic to drain the line and clear it out so it'll drain properly. I had to argue with them to get them to go up there. But they said the service ticket didn't say to do that so I ... read more

I have used my American Home Shield on two instances. AHS is pretty consistent, the reason for 4 stars is that some of the contractors are better than others. Get a good contractor and parts are on hand the service is a 5...... get a situation with a bad contractor and it averages out quick.... AHS does a good job overall

We had a ceiling fan that had to be replaced and American Home Shield replaced it. At the same time, I had another ceiling fan in another room that the contractor looked at and they tried fixing it. They said that if it gets bad and if the sound comes back, they would have to replace that. With this second fan, the claim is still pending and it's a matter of trying to get the American Home Shield to approve the contractor to order a replacement for it.As far as dealing with American Home Shield's rep, that seemed to be okay.... read more

The hot water heater wasn't working. I opened a claim online with AHS and it was super easy and convenient. Then, they let me know what company it was assigned to and that the company would be calling. Within half an hour, the company called and scheduled an appointment. When they came out, they came on time and they were wonderful. The first time they were here, they replaced a part thinking that was the issue, but then it wasn't. The next day, they came back and replace another part and that corrected the issue. That gave ... read more

I wasn't home and my husband called me and said that the pipe was leaking and that the basement floor was wet. I submitted the claim the next morning and Lenny's Plumbing came out and looked at it. It wasn't a leak. The issue was the way that the tub was set up. The spigot that came out of the wall where the water would come out was stuck off the wall and it had about three-eighths of an inch gap between the end of the spigot and where the wall was. The gap was big enough that you couldn't put silicone in it to plug it up.Th... read more

The air conditioner was leaking and I submitted a claim to American Home Shield. It was directly computerized online or over the phone. I was done within minutes. The contractor was perfect.

The dishwasher motherboard had fried out. I filed a claim online with AHS and the tech repaired it. But he left the part that he replaced with me and I don't know if they are supposed to leave the old part with me or are they supposed to dispose of it. Other than that, I like the convenience of being able to have my appliances repaired and fixed in an expedited fashion and not having to buy new appliances. It's cheaper to pay the deductible.
